Are you ready to make positive changes in your life? I specialize in nurturing personal growth and inner peace by fostering connection between the body, mind and spirit. My approach involves working to transform negative thinking patterns, increase bodily and emotional awareness, and improve communication with others. For example, depending on your needs, written exercises, psychological tests, values clarification, or yoga-based anxiety reduction techniques may be used.

Therapy is a unique journey for each individual. My approach is eclectic and client-centered, grounded in the belief you are the expert of your own story—the traumas you've endured, the life you've lived. I’m here as a clinician who values walking alongside you, collaborating to create a plan that supports your growth, builds new skills, and helps you reconnect with the most authentic version of yourself. I truly believe each of us has a purpose—a reason for being—that can sometimes be obscured by the weight we carry. Therapy, to me, is a space to gently unpack the heaviness, to breathe, and to learn how to move forward.

We work from a developmental trauma, attachment theory and shame basis of therapy including meeting and nurturing your inner child. If I cannot meet your needs I contract with different providers to get you to where need to be.

I also integrate practical tools from CBT, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation so you're not only understanding yourself more deeply, but responding differently in real situations.
You're good at holding it all together - but what is that costing you? On the outside, your life might look stable, even successful. But underneath? You're overthinking everything, bracing for what could go wrong. Feeling flat, disconnected from the things you used to love. Or just exhausted from the pressure of handling everything while pretending you're ok. Sometimes the strategies that helped you get this far - like pushing through and staying in control - are the very things now keeping you stuck.

You can be capable, thoughtful, and emotionally aware yet still feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally depleted. Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning adults who appear steady on the outside but feel internally strained from carrying too much responsibility for too long. Often, this anxiety isn't random. It's connected to work stress, family dynamics, or relationships where boundaries have gradually eroded. I work best with adults experiencing; anxiety related to work stress, stress with over-responsibility or caretaking, difficulty setting and maintaining boundaries.

My ideal client is someone who is feeling stuck and looking to make some changes. They may be navigating major life transitions, relationship challenges, or a desire to feel more confident and grounded in their daily life. They seek therapy not because they are broken, but because they are courageous enough to want something better, whether it is clarity, healing, or finding their purpose. They’re looking for practical tools, a fresh perspective and a therapist who listens without judgment and challenges them gently. Most of all, they want to be seen, validated, and supported as they take meaningful steps toward growth.

Being human is complicated: relationships are both beautiful and heartbreaking, our inner parts are often in conflict, and many of us are navigating identities that don't fit society’s norms. And yet, I believe nothing is fundamentally wrong with you or your relationships. The parts of you that feel stuck, hurt, or are hard to look at aren't problems to get rid of. They're trying to help. And there's usually a gift inside, once we learn what they've been protecting. I'm a queer, nonbinary, non-monogamous, sex-positive therapist who's spent a decade in the communities I now serve.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
