I work with couples, families, individuals, children, and teens.
I use Family Systems Theory, which explains how most problems are rooted in family systems breakdowns and past traumas. I also may use Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or TF-CBT, Mindfulness, Emotion Focused Therapy or EFT, depending on my clients’ needs. Everyone goes through struggles, sometimes all we need is someone to listen and be heard!

Therapy is a unique journey for each individual.
My approach is eclectic and client-centered, grounded in the belief you are the expert of your own story—the traumas you've endured, the life you've lived. I’m here as a clinician who values walking alongside you, collaborating to create a plan that supports your growth, builds new skills, and helps you reconnect with the most authentic version of yourself.
I truly believe each of us has a purpose—a reason for being—that can sometimes be obscured by the weight we carry. Therapy, to me, is a space to gently unpack the heaviness, to breathe, and to learn how to move forward.

Are these thoughts familiar: "Why...?" "I can't seem to get out of this rut!" "I'm so tired of being tired." "I'm not me anymore." "I can't concentrate. I can't sleep. I worry all the time."
Depression, anxiety, and grief are often the result of difficult events. The effects of trauma are forced upon us. Our body remembers and, over time, creates defenses that help us get through the experience.
Our body speaks to us, but most often we either do not listen or do not understand what it is saying. I'll work with you to learn your body's language, bring unconscious responses to the surface, and reframe them in meaningful terms.

Are you seeking honest and useful feedback? Stuck in thoughts, feelings or behaviors that are causing stress? Are "blind spots" creating conflict in a relationship? My therapy practice is guided by 3 core beliefs: (1) Past or current emotional stress often creates imbalance in behavior, feelings or perception. (2) Awareness of the origins of imbalance and how it manifests in your relationship with yourself or others is necessary for positive change. (3) A supportive, compassionate listener with broad life experience can facilitate self-reflection, personal responsibility, and life-changing personal growth.

The psyche is real. Its depths can be explored, mapped, and understood in ways we might never have imagined. In the context of a meaningful psychotherapeutic relationship, this exploration can be done with another human being who is on the path with you. I am a "both/and" rather than an "either/or" person. This universe we inhabit is full of nuance and grey areas that defy easy, binary categorization. This includes humans. We are curiously constellated infinite beings with infinite capacities for change and growth, creative expression, and personal agency, and I'm here to help you remember that.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
