My work is grounded in a belief that creativity, story, and human connection can be powerful sources of healing. I began my career in theater and social work, where I saw how shared experiences and expression can help people find truth, strength, and possibility. Now, my practice integrates both traditional psychotherapy and creative, experiential approaches. While I offer Drama Therapy for those who are interested, I also provide straightforward talk therapy, and many clients blend the two in whatever way feels comfortable.

I love to work with people who seek to move beyond symptom management and are ready for a deeper process of self-knowledge and change as well as those who are forced by life circumstances to re-evaluate the foundations of their worldview, relationships, and sense of self. Change is most effective when it’s self-chosen as an outgrowth of insight, thus I will accompany you in looking deeply within yourself to bring into awareness unconscious aspects and to facilitate a process where you can grow more fully into your self and develop a greater sense of vibrancy, autonomy, and wholeness in life.

Your days seem to blend together, grasped tightly in the hands of pressures and to-dos. Most of your energy is spent trying to avoid mistakes or “bad” situations, but this exhausts you. It’s possible that you even spend a lot of time worrying about others, people-pleasing, running yourself ragged trying to keep your head afloat in the water you hardly recognize as your life. As you try to sleep your brain replays everything you “should” have done differently, things you have to do tomorrow, and whether or not everything you’re doing is even enough. It feels sometimes like you don’t even have control over your own mind.

You’ve always been the one others rely on, thoughtful, capable, and deeply caring. But lately, something feels off. You’re tired of overthinking, overgiving, and feeling disconnected from yourself. You want space to explore your inner world, reconnect with what you want, and finally make choices that take care of you. You’re not here for surface-level fixes, you want depth, clarity, and alignment. Therapy with me is a space to unravel old patterns, come home to yourself, and build a life that reflects your authentic self and actually supports you.

I work with adults (18+) who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and make real, lasting changes in their lives. My focus is on anxiety and OCD—helping people who feel stuck in cycles of worry, overthinking, and self-doubt find relief and clarity. Many of my clients describe feeling “in their heads” all the time or frustrated by how hard it is to quiet their thoughts, even when life looks fine on the outside. Together, we slow things down and make sense of what’s driving those patterns, so you can start to feel more grounded, capable, and connected.

Our work together, tailored to each individual, offers the opportunity to help you to take charge of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors along with raising self-esteem, nurturing oneself in healthy, positive ways, releasing your emotional pain and assertively taking care of yourself with others. Childhood issues often create unidentified patterns that work silently in the background to sabotage you accomplishing your goals in life. The world moves at a pace that can feel impossible to keep up with. It’s like you’re always trying to catch up, just barely staying afloat. Balancing school/work, a social life, and all the basic day-to-day tasks can feel overwhelming—almost like everyone else got the instructions on how to manage it all, and you didn’t. And even though you’re bright and capable, things still slip through the cracks. That can be frustrating, stressful, and honestly pretty lonely. Trying to explain why things feel so hard when it looks like everyone else has it together can leave you feeling misunderstood and worn down.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
