I enjoy working with adult clients who are navigating live transitions and adjusting to new identities, whether in relationship to self, their support system and family, or their environment. I primarily work with clients between the ages of 18-35 including college students, individuals navigating life post-grad, and maternal mental health. I also provide therapeutic support for graduate students in the fields of counseling and social work who are looking to process their lived experience alongside their academics and future role as a helper.

I enjoy helping my clients work through the most difficult of life's challenges. I work with individuals from all walks of life, struggling with a variety of conditions and life situations. I take a collaborative approach to treatment, emphasizing personal control in therapy. My interest in psychotherapy stems from my fascination with language and communication. I have spent years researching language from the perspectives of philosophy, linguistics, and psychology. This research informs my clinical style such that I have an ear attuned to the subtleties of communication, which many of my patients find extremely supportive.

Each person's reason for entering therapy is unique. As a psychodynamic psychotherapist and Jungian analyst-in-training, I understand all suffering as uncomfortable and deep inner life callings toward a more whole and creative life. I take a strengths-based, person-centered approach to meet you where you are and proceed at your pace. We will meet in a safe and confidential space (whether in my office or on secure video) and get curious together about the meaning of your symptoms and the type of transformation for which your particular soul is calling .

Do you want to wake up? Do you see that our thinking is conditioned and can never be the self? We are born into a dysfunctional culture that conditions us to suffer individually and collectively. This imprisons our minds into a certain way of thinking. As we see in our society, this thinking creates conflict and division within ourselves and others. Do you want to WAKE UP and break free of the conditions of the mind? Are you willing to question and dig underneath to discover the quiet essence that is you? No matter your age, I would love to guide you on your journey of letting go, Waking up, and living in joy, not sorrow.

I want to fully understand what's on your mind and explore all the angles with you. Many of your maladaptive thoughts and behaviors have been modeled to you for a lifetime, and when we start from there, you will see it’s not your fault and you’re not alone. Although I always come with compassion, I do not aim to dismiss your behaviors. I aim to expose them with you and help you observe what 'is', and take action from that place. There is always a transpersonal undertone, and our exploration will consist of breaking down the truth behind your thoughts and beliefs, which will gradually lead to innate peace and wholeness.

Is there something you want to change, or accept more fully in your life? While we can become stuck in the past, or worried about the future, it is possible to cultivate greater ease, self compassion and presence. As human beings we are connected in that each of us experiences pain and suffering, yet we are also capable of great joy, growth and resiliency. While often it is our tendency to avoid or push away that which causes us distress, it is in bringing it forward and truly acknowledging what is, that eventually leads to greater freedom.

Hi! I work with individuals, couples, and families with adult children who are confident in some areas of their life, such as career, friendships or creative pursuits, and are struggling/seeking support in other areas such as relationships and/or life transitions. I believe happy, healthy relationships and active participation in life happen when people feel their feelings, discover safety and connection in the present, continuously learn about their environment, take care of their bodies, trust their power and/or a Higher Power to create a life that mirrors the Love that they are, and question and choose their thoughts.

It’s been a tough few years to say the least. You’re probably thinking things aren’t going as well in your teen's life as they used to. There is something going on in their mind, body, or spirit that is holding them back from the full potential you know they can reach. Like many others they’ve probably experienced something recently or in their life that still has power over their emotions to this day. You want to help them get back to thriving, but don’t know exactly where to start. Maybe traditional talk therapies have helped to an extent, but didn’t get them as far as you wanted to go.

Whatever brought you here, I welcome it and I welcome you. We all need a space where we feel seen, supported, and understood without judgment. As a pre-licensed mental health counselor, I bring both clinical training and decades of lived experience to the therapeutic relationship. Before becoming a therapist, I ran a community café where people showed up not just for coffee, but for connection. That experience shaped how I hold space today: with presence, care, and deep respect for your story.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Waterbury?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
