Deciding what to focus on in therapy is always your choice. Common topics I've observed affect improvement in most people's lives:
• By increasing satisfaction with accurate listening: both receiver & the provider, enormous satisfaction is gained. NOTE: Listening & agreeing are NOT the same. Learning this distinction brings peace to relationships.
• By increasing the effectiveness of coping skills you assert yourself in courageous ways that matter to your life goals because you are functioning with a thinking & sensing regulated brain.
• Learning to value mistakes, imperfections & vulnerabilities teaches grace & responsibility.

Learning how to hold space for yourself and your emotions can be difficult. You deserve a space to slow down, take a breath, and connect with what matters most to you. I work with humans who are experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, or are in the midst of pivotal life shifts and changes. What if therapy didn’t feel clinical—but creative, grounded, and real? In my practice, healing happens through connection: with yourself, with nature, with horses, and through creative expression like art and journaling. Whether you're facing anxiety, relationship stress, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck in old patterns, this is a place to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover your inner strength.

The world moves at a pace that can feel impossible to keep up with. It’s like you’re always trying to catch up, just barely staying afloat. Balancing school/work, a social life, and all the basic day-to-day tasks can feel overwhelming—almost like everyone else got the instructions on how to manage it all, and you didn’t.
And even though you’re bright and capable, things still slip through the cracks. That can be frustrating, stressful, and honestly pretty lonely. Trying to explain why things feel so hard when it looks like everyone else has it together can leave you feeling misunderstood and worn down.

Embrace change through somatic (body focused) modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing (TM), parts work, yogic concepts, deep inquiry and deep listening. Adjunct therapy offered for specific issues if you are already working regularly with another therapist. For some people short term EMDR therapy can be highly effective, and for others the process may take longer. Together, we will chart a course that addresses your complexity and goals. I am also an experienced yoga teacher/practitioner and support individual practice and traditional awareness approaches.

Feeling stuck? Struggling to set a boundary? Goals, successes, and happiness are often guided and, occasionally hindered, by the situations we find ourselves in. Traumatic events, interpersonal struggles, and difficult environments can make it challenging to walk our own path and to reach our potential. In these times of hardship it is important to find direction and to develop safety and a strong sense of self. It is with this strength we can make plans for positive changes in the future.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
