I answer every email if it reaches me (sometimes PsychToday doesn't forward them). YES, I have open slots. And No, I don't use AI in any capacity. ... Feeling overwhelmed and anxious because of big happenings in your life? Let me introduce a different kind of counseling to help you navigate grief, change, and adjustment, good or bad, because you can be the hero of your own life. EMAILing me is the first step, as phone calls are difficult to return with my daily schedule. I will email back as best I can within 24 hours. Please do me a similar courtesy of replying or cancelling if things change.

I come to my work as a therapist from backgrounds as an artist, hospital oncology chaplain, art professor and activist, meditation teacher, lover of movement, backpacker Dharma bum, essayist, companion of rescue pups, and former Buddhist nun. I've been around the block, tried many things, succeeded and failed, and carried my heart through many of this world's wild, beautiful, boring, terrible, sacred spaces. All of which feels relevant to working with clients who dare to trust their creative and intuitive processes as they come into fierce, tender, inalienable wholeness.

Do you find yourself caught in the same patterns, reactions, or challenges, no matter how much you understand them? You may have done a great deal of inner work, maybe even years of therapy, and still struggle with familiar patterns. Despite your self-awareness and intentions, something isn’t shifting in the moments that matter most. You may feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or like something is wrong. You’re ready to feel less reactive, more grounded, and to experience greater ease in your body. You’re ready to address the roots of these patterns in a way that supports meaningful, lasting resolution. I want to help you get there.

The brain has an immense capacity to change and grow. Research shows that even a few months of mindfulness practice can effectively treat depression, anxiety, chronic stress, addiction, and pain, and can boost performance, relationships, and wellbeing. But in the midst of real suffering, a method only works when it can actually be used. This is where a genuine relationship with someone knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate makes all the difference: a partner who can meet you where you are, draw on your strengths, and move at your pace. I've taught mindfulness and meditation (including 5 yrs in neuroscience research) since 2007.

I walk beside those who sense an untold story within—a quiet calling toward wholeness. Individuals come with questions, with longing, with the weight of what feels unfinished. In the stillness of Psychosynthesis coaching, we listen for the soul’s voice, gather the scattered pieces, and gently weave them into a life that feels aligned, meaningful, and deeply true. I work with individuals who feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about their life’s direction. Longing for clarity, inner harmony, and a deeper sense of purpose, I help you integrate mind, heart, and spirit—transforming challenges into growth.

My ideal client is ready to explore how early attachment, trauma, and unconscious patterns shape the ways they show up in relationships. Through the lens of relational neuroscience, we recognize that many of our behaviors and patterns are not conscious choices but echoes of implicit memory—early, body-based experiences that continue to drive how we behave. My clients long for meaningful relationships where they feel safe and connected, where they don’t abandon themselves or repeat co-dependent dynamics. They want not just tools, but transformation: a felt shift in how they move through the world and in their closest bonds.

Many of my clients seek hypnosis because traditional talk therapy alone hasn’t fully resolved their deep-rooted issues. Whether you are looking for hypnosis as a powerful, stand-alone treatment or as a complementary tool to enhance your current therapy, you are in the right place. My background as a Registered Nurse allows me to bridge the gap between medical science and psychological healing. Together, we will target the subconscious roots of your concerns to restore balance to both your mind and body.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes it helps to have someone who will really listen, without judgement. It's ok to give yourself a soft place to land, be messy, to gently and deeply heal. To let go and stop guarding against "All the Things"! When you give space for what you are going through, you begin to feel lighter, soften around places that were hurt, and find a way back to your true self. I support you in coming to deeply know and understand yourself, reclaiming self-worth and trust in your inner compass; growing skills for coping, self-soothing your nervous system, and managing life, emotions and relationships.

I see a state of imbalance in the world that affects all beings and brings out our collective and individual defenses. These intersect with trauma, relationship issues, fear, anxiety, grief, and depression to create patterns of disharmony within our lives and our dynamics with others. I see therapy as a process of co-creatively and compassionately tending to threads of discord that have become intransigent, freeing new pathways of thinking, feeling, and being. With time and attention, therapy can help cultivate and strengthen an inner balance.

Psychoanalysis and analytic psychotherapy are relationship-based treatment models. Reasons for seeking treatment, such as depression, anxiety, and relationship issues, are as unique to each individual as are our thoughts, feelings, and perceptions. Discovering for oneself what constitutes a good therapeutic relationship requires time and experience, which promote insight. There is no replacement for personal experience where mental health is concerned. In the words of Wilfred Bion, "You are the most important person you are ever likely to meet. Therefore, it is of no small importance that you get on well with this important person."

I believe healing becomes possible when we feel well supported and genuinely understood. Whether you're trying to move on from a traumatic past, overwhelmed by painful emotions, stuck in challenging relationship dynamics, or longing for change and connection with in your innate gifts and inner wisdom, I'll take the time to get to know you and develop a therapeutic relationship that you can trust. From that foundation, we can more deeply understand what's brought you to therapy at this time and approach your symptoms not as signs that something is wrong with you, but as meaningful expressions of what most needs curiosity and care.

How does transpersonal therapy work?
Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?
Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?
Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?
There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
