I provide a safe, caring place to help you develop more satisfying ways of being in relationship with your partner, teen, yourself or your life. I believe we all have the capacity to be healthy and whole. Often, our upbringing or harmful experiences leave us with habits that no longer serve our growth and well-being. I bring a warm, compassionate presence to help you locate and heal the sources of suffering. I have worked with adults, couples, parents and teens over 40 years, assisting people to become more able to honor their heart's desires.

Your relationship with food and your body has taken over your life, and you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and alone. You may be fed up with the shame, tired of having no control, or sick of feeling isolated. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to leave the eating disorder behind. You want to feel confident and in control of your emotions. Most of all, you’re ready to reconnect with yourself.

I offer woman to woman counseling for those in transition, struggling with loss grief and loss, job change or search, retirement, ending a toxic relationship, or taking on the adventure of an expat life. Lets talk about how that turn-around from powerlessness really CAN happen. I'm a little unconventional in my ways but I know that you will leave your very first session with something in hand if you are as engaged as I am. EMAILing me is the first step, as phone calls are difficult to return with my daily schedule. I will email back as best I can within 24 hrs.

I have successfully treated adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, relationship and family-of-origin problems.
I work with couples and individuals to identify patterns of behavior that negatively impact their ability to function as the best versions of themselves. I use an existential focus to help clients navigate life changes, beginning with entering adolescence and progressing to moving away from home, marriage and relationship, birth of a child and loss or death of a loved one. I engage with my clients compassionately and collaboratively.

I work with adults using a psychoanalytic perspective to explore internal conflicts, examine relationship patterns, and increase self-awareness and insight. I specialize in intensive long-term psychotherapy, as I find that meeting more than once a week is helpful for many clients. I also provide clinical supervision to mental health professionals and trainees. I am licensed in VT and NH and offer meetings either in person or via telehealth.

Children are often puzzling, but when they behave in unexpected ways they are telling us something important. Students who are struggling in school need a system of support to help them succeed. When families, schools, and medical practitioners all work together, the 'picture' starts to emerge. My experience as a family therapist and a school counselor gives me insight into what they are trying to tell us and how their systems can work together to support them. My studies in School Psychology help me to assess issues and write positive behavior support plans.
