I use somatic and brain based experiential methods, such as AEDP, brainspotting, and the therapeutic reconsolidation process to help you finally let go of feelings, behaviors, and limiting beliefs getting in your way.
I can help you get to the root of overthinking, doubting yourself, anxiety, sadness, and being stuck repeating the same past issues and patterns and transform it so you can finally get past it and move forward. Or if you're in a transition or going through a tough time and not sure what to do or how to cope, I can help you learn how to change what you have influence over and cope with what you don't so you can get unstuck, feel better, confident, and live the life you want.

I am now using Ketamine Assisted Therapy through Journey Clinical to enhance the effectiveness of EMDR, AEDP, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
Despite difficulties in life, I believe people have an amazing amount of resilience and strength. I work to enhance their strength that gets lost when overwhelmed by challenges. Using multiple modalities, individuals move beyond their old story and into the life they desire. I have heard from clients that "therapy has never helped me" and clients of mine have achieved their goals. I have specialty training with trauma which, by definition is "a deeply distressing or disturbing experience". I assist people in trusting their innate abilities to make decisions from a healthy perspective.

My work is informed by AEDP, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family System, and Positive Psychology.
I offer compassionate, down-to-earth counseling in which I strive to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Through gentle curiosity of one's internal experience (emotions, thoughts, and sensations) the client can have a more complete, accurate and honest present moment experience of themselves, creating more self awareness, self responsiveness, compassion, trust, and authentic expression. My therapeutic style tends toward interactive, while collaborating with the client to guide the process at a safe pace. I work from a strength-based model that views individuals as having an innate capacity toward growth and health.

In therapy, my aim is to create a space where you can freely express yourself, offering understanding and validation to bring you a sense of relief by the end of our session. While I believe these are fundamental goals in therapy, I understand that they are just the beginning. When we connect, I tailor my approach to suit your unique needs, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all solution in therapy. My approach involves delving not only into emotional and psychological aspects but also addressing societal factors and systemic oppression that may be impacting your life.

Suffering is an inherent part of the human condition, but it doesn't mean that we need to move through it alone. Irvin Yalom, an American Existential Psychiatrist, describes the therapist and client as "fellow travelers." This resonates with me, as I believe that a collaborative approach and the steadily cultivated care and trust in the therapeutic relationship can fuel meaningful growth and change on individual and relational levels. Then, by shining the light of curiosity on one's inner landscape, an awareness of relationship themes, habitual behaviors, and thought patterns begins to surface. This awareness is the key to change.

Whether you are struggling with your partner, your child, your sibling, or your parents, it can at times feel overwhelming. It doesn't have to be like this. The latest research shows that by fostering secure bonds we can reduce conflict and pain.

Welcome! I believe that whatever you are struggling with you have within you everything that is needed to heal and thrive. Relational issues or traumatic experiences can lead us to think, feel and relate to ourselves in ways that do not value our inner knowledge, health and resources. We will work together to restore talents, strengths and abilities that have been taken over by problematic stories. By retelling these stories and experiences with preferred outcomes we can reconnect to your dreams and goals, this often helps people develop new strategies for change and increased happiness and satisfaction.

AEDP Therapists

Who is AEDP therapy for?

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is for adults who have experienced emotional pain in the past that, because it has not been adequately addressed and processed, interferes with current functioning. The problems might manifest in a number of different ways, from excessive anger to relationship difficulties to PTSD to eating disorders, poor self-esteem, and depression. They may also be accompanied by physiological symptoms. AEDP helps people accept and digest challenging emotional experiences.

Why do people need AEDP?

People need AEDP as a way to manage distressing emotions—including anger, shame, and guilt—that in some way hamper the ability to function and form satisfying relationships in the present. The therapist-client relationship is believed to provide corrective emotional and relational experiences that facilitate positive changes in brain function, forge pathways for processing traumatic experiences, and allow resolution of emotional pain.

What happens in AEDP therapy?

Once individuals have established a strong bond with the AEDP therapist and the therapist has established a safe and secure environment, clients are encouraged to explore their most painful emotional experiences. They may be asked to pay attention to disquieting body sensations as well as to psychological discomfort. Individuals learn how to process emotions, rather than avoid them. Through the strength of the therapist-client bond, each session is intended to provide a powerful positive experience for individuals, enabling growth.

What problems does AEDP treat?

AEDP is intended to treat the unprocessed emotional pain caused by earlier distressing experiences, which commonly includes behavioral avoidance of current situations and experiences for fear that they will reactivate painful feelings. Emotional pain and avoidant behavior play a role in a wide array of mental health conditions, which is why AEDP is applied to the treatment of a range of disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, and eating disorders.
