My theory of practice is centered in a foundation that individuals are the expert of their own experience and through transparency and flexibility, I seek to meet people and their needs through relational development and open discussion. I continue to utilize therapeutic approaches that are most mindful of the potential negative impacts associated with institutionalized models of care. I hope to engage as a collaborative partner in exploring your goals and possible approaches to reaching them. I am very interested in how we are shaped by our relationships to others and would be happy to explore ideas about those impacts with you.

I specialize in working with adults and emerging adults from diverse racial, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I accept clients who struggle to find competent care due to the overall inadequate support in mental health for individuals who occupy marginalized identity positions. I bring to my practice both deep knowledge about many socio-cultural factors and power dynamics that can profoundly affect a person's lived experiences (such as race, cultural identity, gender identity, and sexual preferences) as well as humility about the limits of my knowledge.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties associated with trauma, depression, ADHD, chronic pain/illness, and anxiety. When working with clients, I utilize an ecological framework to conceptualize my clients' difficulties and strengths beyond mental health, working to understand how the community, relationships, and physical health also play a role so I can better support my clients in meeting their goals.

I’ve supported fellow LGBTQIA+ folks and people with chronic illnesses for nearly a decade. Many of my clients are students, organizers, artists, educators, and healthcare providers. We might work well together if you're seeking anti-oppressive, affirming therapy. As a team, we can strategize about how to feel more empowered in daily life. I’m here to offer camaraderie and guidance re: sociopolitical stress, medical trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I can also provide a gentle landing place if you are new to the queer community or if you are managing chronic health symptoms for the first time.

I am committed to helping those who seek greater understanding, connection, and stability in relationships with self and others. Specialty areas include depression, anxiety, attachment, young adult development, leadership, and BPD spectrum. I love applying advances in research to how I think about my patients' care. My work is informed by relational psychodynamic and cognitive/behavioral approaches (including ACT, DBT, CBT), and by my background in yoga, somatics, and mindfulness. Above all, I think my job is to listen really well, while bringing curiosity, challenge, and kindness toward your unique human experience.

Psychotherapy is a collaboration existing within a trusted, safe relationship. We can work together to find the place within you that is well. We will develop a space for you to notice internal cues and explore your reactivity. By bringing awareness to your strengths and exploring internalized emotions, we can safely increase your felt sense which leads to integration. We will work together to see beyond diagnosis and explore the human experience, following the innate wisdom of your body and it's ability to heal from trauma.
