Each person has within them a completely unique set of potentials that are waiting to be realized. However, we often get stuck in patterns of behavior that keep us from realizing our own potential. It is so easy to fall into a rut where we go through the motions of life but feel disconnected. I work with people who are suffering from mental distress related to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and self-esteem issues. I love helping my clients figure out what potential resides in them and how to live a life that feels more purposeful and meaningful.

Are you feeling lost in your own story? Breaking patterns, finding your story, rewriting the journey, understanding ourselves, and designing new paths can be ways out of cycles of behavior. Living your best life takes work, honesty and exploration. Working together, we can develop strategies and tools you can continue to use now and throughout your life. Change begins when we start to look more closely at our lives and think intentionally about who we are and who we want to be.

Suffering is an inherent part of the human condition, but it doesn't mean that we need to move through it alone. Irvin Yalom, an American Existential Psychiatrist, describes the therapist and client as "fellow travelers." This resonates with me, as I believe that a collaborative approach and the steadily cultivated care and trust in the therapeutic relationship can fuel meaningful growth and change on individual and relational levels. Then, by shining the light of curiosity on one's inner landscape, an awareness of relationship themes, habitual behaviors, and thought patterns begins to surface. This awareness is the key to change.

It is sometimes said that therapy is a dance between the therapist and the client. Together, they are equal partners who work to seek solutions to problems or relief from pain.

Do you feel like patterns from your past are following you like ghosts? Invisible burdens that are all too real to you? Your relationships are disrupted. Your emotional state is unpredictable, or entirely numb. You feel stuck and maybe even hopeless. You're exhausted. Or you just have a quiet sense that things aren’t working. I want you to know that healing and unexpected change are possible; that the burdens you carry don't have to be burdens forever; and that tucked away inside of you is a force inherently capable of bearing you through what previously felt impossible, waiting for the conditions in which it may emerge.

Talking about a burden someone has been carrying around is a good reason to seek out a therapist. The therapist has to be someone you feel comfortable opening up to and sharing whatever you experience as a burden. Without that relationship of trust it's difficult to move forward. That open-minded approach with a properly broad notion of what it means to be "normal" is at the heart of my practice as a therapist. I work with clients to discover what is leaving them feeling stuck so that they can move forward and find happiness.
