My motto is: "Life is an Adventure!" As the years pass and my experience deepens, I find that my approach embraces Nature and Positive Psychology more and more as I help people navigate relationships, anxiety, depression, life transitions and existential issues. While I am skilled and knowledgeable about how to help solve problems, work through issues and reduce symptoms, I also feel that it is my calling to help people to access their natural strengths and assets that can help them towards healing. I am currently certified as an EMDR Practitioner.

I see couples and individuals for concerns about infidelity, sex, escalating conflict, diminishing connection, concerns about parenting, and disagreements over major life decisions.
Depth-oriented psychotherapy is designed to assist pateints in discovering, revealing and resolving subtle or “deeper” insecurities that underlie unproductive arguments, communication difficulties, decreased intimacy and increased volatility. When clarity about the deeper tensions underlying relational conflict is gained, a variety of solutions emerge.

The aftermath of trauma can feel both daunting and undefined. You may feel like you don’t know yourself anymore. The idea of who you are becoming may bring even more uncertainty. You may notice that your relationships are falling apart, causing you to feel isolated, yet still yearning for connection. I’m dedicated to providing you with a safe and non-judgmental space where you can start to make sense of it all. Slowly, you’ll learn to feel and identify emotions which will enable you to process your past. Eventually, your nervous system may find equilibrium again. Gradually, your body can learn to let go.

For the majority of people, counseling gives a sense of relief and hope, in part, by providing a safe and open environment to freely talk with an unbiased and non-judgmental person about what is going on in their relationships and personal lives. I provide help for couples who feel as though they don't know what else to do to make things different in their relationships and are experiencing emotional distress due to a variety of reasons from: communication problems, conflict, and distancing, to an overall feeling of disconnect with their partners.

I like to start by building trust and finding out what goals you want to set for yourself. A safe, encouraging atmosphere with no authoritarian or shaming attitudes is important. Humor is useful with couples, families or teens. Role-plays are a fun way to practice new relationship skills.

Currently have limited daytime slots. I am here as a support for clients to unload whatever may be going on in their lives. Throughout our therapeutic relationship, we will develop and work towards goals that will essentially lead to living a happier, healthier life, whatever that may look like to each individual client. Feeling comfortable, calm, relaxed and at ease throughout the therapeutic process is very important in session with me as your therapist. More often than not life can become overwhelming and complicated. We as individuals may benefit from developing skills and techniques to help us better cope.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
