Are you feeling lost in your own story? Breaking patterns, finding your story, rewriting the journey, understanding ourselves, and designing new paths can be ways out of cycles of behavior. Living your best life takes work, honesty and exploration. Working together, we can develop strategies and tools you can continue to use now and throughout your life. Change begins when we start to look more closely at our lives and think intentionally about who we are and who we want to be.

Thank you for being here. I offer a practical, down-to-earth approach to therapy rooted in cognitive-behavioral and reality-based work. My focus is to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, understand what’s not working, and develop more balanced, effective ways of thinking and responding. I believe meaningful change begins with honest conversation, clarity, and a willingness to look directly at what needs to shift.

Often, we focus on the things holding us back, depression, anxiety, worry, feelings of inadequacy or anger, regret and loss.
Clients who work with me are looking for meaning in their life, overwhelmed, worrying about the future or what impact they have. These concerns cross gender and sexual identity, and age. Parents who work with me are having difficulty parenting a highly spirited, anxious, depressed, or identity-developing child.

"Long-lasting responses to trauma result not simply from the experience of fear and helplessness but also from how our bodies interpret those experiences." (Rachel Yehuda) Trauma can be thought of as an experience that overwhelms the individual's ability to process the event as it is happening. I work with adults who have been impacted by trauma, to help bring relief to their lives. By partnering with individuals to help release burdens and stress, we help you create a fresh, new framework for future experiences.

Healing from deep-seated trauma or anxiety can feel exhausting, especially when you are doing the work but still hitting a wall. Reaching out takes immense courage. I believe therapy should be a safe, intentional space where we don't just talk about pain—we actively clear it away. You don’t have to stay stuck in the loop or navigate this alone. Let’s create the space you deserve to finally move forward. I offer two distinct paths to relief: focused, life-changing EMDR Intensives slots available from August, and limited weekly therapy slots opening this September.

Why am I struggling so bad? Its been long enough and I should be okay now, right? I want to move on and feel stuck. I don't have anyone who wants to hear my story and help me make sense if it. Being able to tell our stories can be cathartic and liberating and I want to offer space so you can be heard and seen. I believe that making meaning of our experiences can be powerful and I offer guidance, skills, education and practice that nurtures learning new ways of coping & managing stress. I want to support processing what's surfacing so you can begin to flourish.

I conceptualize therapy as a collaborative process in which therapist and client determine treatment content and goals, working to create an environment of compassion, challenge and insight capable of motivating those disruptive changes which constitute so much of the meaning of therapy. In attempting to individualize treatment, I cultivate an integrative responsiveness utilizing those techniques that seem best able to serve the client's needs and promote therapeutic goals. Often these goals extend beyond symptom relief to include the enhancement of psychological capacities and resources through self exploration and discovery in the context of a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker with two decades of experience. Most of my clients are men doing the hard work of examining the scripts they inherited about strength, people carrying anxiety that looks like control on the outside and exhaustion underneath, and individuals and partners navigating ethical non-monogamy and other relationship structures, always free of judgment. I don't rely on one modality - I blend Internal Family Systems, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and other modalities to fit the person in front of me. Expect warmth, honesty, and someone who will gently push you to grow.

Not accepting new clients at this time. I love working with adults and youth who are feeling "stuck" and are seeking ways in which they can improve their overall functioning across domains. I offer a calm and safe place that can be utilized for self-exploration and reflection. My background is rooted in trauma-informed care and transformative social work practice. I am a strong believer in the importance of authenticity in relationships. My ideal client is someone who is willing, at whatever pace makes sense to them, to collaborate on identifying solutions to overcome obstacles.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
