I invite clients into a supportive atmosphere where they can share and explore their different emotions, experience empathy, and being fully heard. Clients will develop skills to better manage their upsets, fears, or relational challenges, both past and present. From a mindful perspective, I challenge clients to create a ‘half-full' mindset, to gradually move beyond emotional reactivity or overwhelm. Regardless of the challenge, clients will learn to see the opportunities in life, rather than falling victim to upsets, and will gradually move into a new way of being - one with a renewed sense of possibility, peace, and freedom.

In my work with individuals, families, and couples, I embody a supportive and accepting approach with the notion that every person has the capacity to grow even when facing challenges along the way. I am aware that for some, therapy can be threatening and uncomfortable to even consider, so I strive to create an atmosphere that is safe, comfortable and authentic. I truly believe in the positive influence of conversations that promote self-reflection, critical thinking and alternative perspectives to discover and enhance untapped skills and tools which can increase life satisfaction.

Only accepting intensives and Ketamine Assisted tx. Despite difficulties in life, I believe people have an amazing amount of resilience and strength. I work to enhance their strength that gets lost when overwhelmed by challenges. Using multiple modalities, individuals move beyond their old story and into the life they desire. I hear from clients that "therapy has never helped me" and clients of mine have achieved their goals. I have specialty training with trauma which, by definition is "a deeply distressing or disturbing experience". I assist people in trusting their innate abilities to make decisions from a healthy perspective.

Are you having difficulty accomplishing goals or moving forward in your life? Maybe feeling unfulfilled in your endeavors or finding yourself anxious or saddened for apparently no reason at all? Sometimes, discussing your concerns with an experienced, non-judgmental and practical therapist can help a person discover ways to break up logjams in their lives and refocus on what they believe is important to them, or what they hope to achieve. Or, have you been afflicted with depression, anxiety or substance use issues in the past and feel the need to take a fresh look at what is happening now? If so, perhaps I can help you.

Feeling stuck in a cycle with alcohol or substances — not necessarily in crisis, but aware something needs to change. Are you carrying the weight of stress, trauma, or emotional pain that substances have become a way to cope. Tired of feeling ashamed, overwhelmed, or like you're “failing” at managing things alone. Struggling with relationships, boundaries, or self-worth. Are you wanting support that feels human, not clinical or judgmental?

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
