**Sadly, I'm currently unable to take any new clients, but please check back, as I will update here when I have openings again. ** Hello, and welcome. Have you come here for change, or has change come for you? We seek therapy for many reasons- support, perspective, collaborative help- and our struggles have many names- anxiety, depression, anger, grief, fear, loss, and loneliness. Who have you been, who are you now, and who would you like to be? Where do you fit into this world, and what do you have to offer? What would you say, and how? Bring your questions, theories, fears and frustrations, confusion, curiosity, and courage.

Seeking support is courageous and a strength to be cultivated. Throughout life we encounter hardships, losses, and transitions, often uncovering emotions and experiences that are difficult to sit with. Despite obstacles there is an inherent human capacity for learning and growth, and in therapy we explore how to tap into these inner resources and break free of patterns that no longer serve you. Through introspection, curiosity, embodiment, and authenticity, I believe you can come into better relationship with yourself and others.

Living is a process that is often painful, just by its nature, and not because people are doing anything wrong. Whether that pain manifests as sadness, loneliness, guilt, shame, boredom, numbness, stagnation, anxiety, or fear, when these feelings show up, they may leave us feeling trapped and powerless in the face of the challenges of life. My focus is providing a non-judgmental environment in which people are comfortable building a greater awareness of their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, habits, and relationship dynamics, and then helping them to use that awareness to live their lives in ways that allow them to thrive.

Family experiences shape our functioning in relationships. Understanding the dynamics & patterns used can lead to better self management in relationships, whether in families, marriages, partnerships or in the workplace. As individuals increase self awareness they are better equipped to navigate the challenges presented to them. When individuals put efforts into changing themselves, I believe that interesting and creative ways of addressing challenges begin to emerge. Managing self requires the ability to find ways to step back from the moment to gain a broader perspective, to gather facts, to strengthen one's knowledge, and to think through a plan of action.

Whether your problem is the result of a crisis or a pattern of self-destructive behavior, your ability to cope is impacted by your personal strengths. My first goal is to meet you where you are, listen to your story, and focus on the way your past shapes the way you deal with challenges in the present.

Accepting new clients for February 2025. My aim is to help you address problematic ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving by way of examining the ways in which you perceive the world around you. The goal is to assist you in reaching a position of appreciation for your genuine self (for you are the perfect you!) and an acceptance of the events that occur in your life. I would be honored to take part in your journey of discovering the narratives which potentially distort reality and lead to discomfort, diminished self-worth, or other barriers to attaining contentment.

NOW accepting clients from across Vermont into my practice. I'm Melanie (she/her). Please reach out if you’d like to work with me! People enter into the therapeutic relationship for all different reasons. I sure have. Maybe this is your first time exploring the idea of therapy or you are returning to therapy after a time away or you are just wanting to change things up a bit. I love hearing people’s stories and am comfortable sitting with someone through the difficult parts of them. Having worked in human services for over a decade, I have found carrying a presence with what people share truly an honor. I am so glad you are here!

*** I am NOT taking new clients at this time*** I am an advance-trained clinical hypnotherapist and LCMHC. I have personally experienced the healing and growth that comes from using clinical hypnotherapy within a supportive therapeutic milieu. I find the accelerated, effective results from clinical hypnosis very impressive and enjoy helping others heal and actualize change with this powerful technique. I approach counseling from a client-centered perspective, meet people where they are at, and help them get to where they want to be without judgement or pressure.

Welcome! I'm Alex (she/they). I am most passionate about working with women and non-binary, queer, or trans adults that are seeking support with issues like ADHD, grief, sexuality, & spirituality. I may be a good fit for those with lived experience as a fat or plus-sized person. I enjoy working with the "caretakers" of the world that may be experiencing burnout or compassion fatigue. I believe that therapy is political and will acknowledge the systems of oppression within our work together. In our highly individualistic society, I believe that therapy is an act of resistance through connection and allowing yourself to be witnessed.

I can only imagine what growing up in the world today must be like. With so many dynamic challenges present in so many areas of life, it's no wonder to me that young people are struggling. While the feelings behind these struggles may be completely valid, sometimes the ways in which we cope, communicate or express those feelings may be unpleasant, unhealthy, or downright damaging for ourselves or those around us. As the therapist, I am here to listen deeply to my child, teen and young adult clients (and their caregivers as needed), help them explore and identify what’s going on for them, and support them in making desired changes.

You may find yourself sitting at a growth edge and wanting to take steps towards change in your life. Often in this growth process there are patterns that emerge that no longer fit who you are and who you are becoming. Traumatic events and life stressors can live in the body and become patterns of tension you carry around that lead you to feel stuck. The process of therapeutic self-inquiry can help you discover new ways of relating to yourself outside narratives that no longer serve your well-being and prevent you from moving forward in your life in a meaningful way.

You’ve read all the books and did all the research, but being in an open relationship is more complicated than it sounded. You thought you had it all figured out, but it turns out you’re just as lost as before. It was supposed to be an exciting time to explore and spice things up, but right now, you’re overwhelmed with anxiety and fear. You’re scared this will ruin your relationship, and jealousy has become a familiar presence. Something has to change. You’re ready to embrace your open relationship and learn to have a fun and successful relationship without letting jealousy destroy your connection with your partner.
