My 20+ years of experience has primarily been working with individuals and couples, around issues of relationship, anxiety and depression, life transitions and trauma. I facilitate issue-focused groups, as well as mindfulness-based stress reduction groups. The eclectic way I work is informed by several theories, including
, psychodynamic, gestalt, feminist therapy, and ecopsychology, as well as by art and literature. Mindfulness meditation and yoga are valuable experiences for me, and I encourage them for those willing or interested.
As a former college counseling center director, I have experience with and enjoy working with college students of any age.
