Many people I work with describe their previous experiences with therapy as “shallow” or “surface level.” My take is that we’ve got to dig deep to create real change. Life is short, and you’ve got a life to live—so let’s get to it.
My work with couples and individuals is informed by relational psychoanalysis and Engaged Buddhism. As a musician, I enjoy working with people in performance-driven fields, like actors, artists, and athletes. I have special interests in struggles related to incarceration, existentialism, masculinity, anger, and queer identity.
Joint PhD (Anthropology & Social Work) and MSW from the University of Michigan, assistant professor at the University of Michigan–Dearborn, advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
