Feeding is often times taken for granted. It is something many children acquire and maintain naturally; however, this is not the case for everyone. Children with feeding disorders may eat extremely limited diets, need supplemental nutrition through feeding tubes or specialized formulas, require table foods to be blended or manipulated to a lower texture, and/or depend upon others to feed them. Though feeding disorders can be multifaceted, including having medical, nutritional, and oral-motor components, psychsocial or behavioral difficulties are also at the forefront of many feeding challenges.

I truly believe that healthy boundaries, healthy coping skills and a positive mindset can change a person’s life for the better.

Deciding to pursue therapy can feel like a daunting process. I work with my clients to ensure that the barriers to living a meaningful life are clearly identified in a way that resonates with them, while working to build a secure therapeutic relationship. Alex is a Licensed Resident in Counseling that provides services primarily for children, adolescents, and young adults, but has experience working with individuals of all ages. His goal with all clients is to provide them with a safe place to share their experiences, and fully process through any struggles they are bringing in to therapy. His approach to counseling derives from a combination of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy.

Dr. Derek Vigon is a licensed clinical and sport psychologist in Maryland and Virginia. Dr. Vigon has worked in a number of clinical settings including hospital inpatient, community mental health, university counseling centers, and Division 1 athletic departments. This range of experience has allowed him to work with individuals spanning diverse presenting problems and multicultural backgrounds. Dr. Vigon has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Contemporary Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Motivational Interviewing. He has experience providing performance enhancement psychological skills training to athletes and performers.

How do you know if your sexual behavior is out of control? It's a subjective question that many men unfortunately wait until relationship, occupational or medical consequences accumulate before considering. I believe the most important person to evaluate concerns with regulating sexual behavior is the man experiencing the dilemma. I start with two basic questions: "What is your conflict with your sexual behavior?" and "What is your vision for your sexual health?" Since 2001, I have provided a safe, informed and confidential space for sexual health conversations with heterosexual, gay and bisexual men.

I am also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Master Addictions Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor. I have experience working with adults and adolescents on issues like anxiety, depression, addiction, behavioral issues, coping skills, and more. Most recently, I have been working as a Military and Family Life Counselor in Japan. My approach focuses on motivational interviewing, client centered therapy and positive psychology.

Richard A. Villa is a Bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor, a Master Addictions Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified School Counselor in Virginia who has been practicing since 1991. Richard has served as a Military and Family Life Counselor at various military installations both in the United States and abroad. Additionally, he has taught psychology courses at Navarro College and at Texas A&M University. Richard has also completed all coursework for his doctorate and hopes to finalize his program soon. Richard has a diverse mental health and substance abuse background and experience.

Dr. Villines is a licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. She received her doctorate degree in psychology (PsyD) in 2004 from the American School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C and completed pre- and postdoctoral training in community mental health centers and neuropsychological practices in the Washington, D.C. area. Dr. Villines conducts comprehensive neuropsychological assessments, evaluating individuals with complex medical, developmental, social-emotional, attentional, learning, and genetic related disorders.
