Hi, I am Virginia. It is nice to meet you! I am a Professional Counselor Associate. I received my Master of Counseling in a Clinical Mental Health Counselor training program from Oregon State University in March 2024. I am passionate about empowering others with applicable tools for living more meaningful lives. I operate from a collaborative strength-based perspective with an emphasis on client agency and wellness. My theoretical orientations include person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapies. I am completing Level 1 of the Gottman Method training to better aid couples in communicating their wants, needs and goals.
I enjoy working with adult individuals, couples, and groups. My clients include those experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and addiction issues. I have worked in various community and private practice settings. In addition, I have a Master of Science in Conflict and Dispute Resolution from 2010.
It is a priority of mine that you feel understood, connected, and engaged in the therapeutic process with it being an effective and productive experience for you. Bottom line: You are the expert on your life. I see myself as an ally and resource with a plethora of tested tools for helpful change.
