I love working with children, teens, and young adults! I can support young people as they walk through developmental changes and lifestyle transitions including new schools, anxiety and worry, family changes, parent divorce, trauma and loss. Often times, these changes create BIG feelings that can be hard to understand and express. I enjoy helping young people understand their feelings and partnering with parents to help their child learn to express them in a healthy way.
I create a safe zone for young people to explore emotions & learn about themselves. It is person-centered & very low-pressure, allowing kids/teens to open up and talk as they feel comfortable. Play is a great tool in therapy; kids communicate so much through their play and teens are often less guarded when engaging in play (like drawing or card games).
