I manage substance abuse issues, related PTSD and trauma, return to employment, disability issues, and the anxiety that evolves with need for change with confidence and strength needed to allow you to "do it." If you are suffering with mood disorders and thoughts of harming self, my 30 + years of experience allows you the confidence of my experience of practice. I practice first with an evaluation of each persons history and then join with the patient in their own treatment planning for therapy. Therapy is most successful when the choice of therapeutic tools are from the patient. The trust of the relationship is built on honesty.
I have inpatient experience in inpatient treatment settings for both men and women re-integrating to home and community after relapse. I have years of training in group work, family, couples and making "change" happen. I understand the depression, anxiety and the thoughts of harming self that a person suffers. The cycle of mood changes, and the "giving up".
I am also dual licensed and practice well in family, couple, individual and group settings with years of training for this. I work with couples by doing an individual evaluation of each person in the relationship and then work with the couple in a format of trust and boundaries that allows a focus on the individual as they have joined in this relationship.
