I find that often, the problems people show up to therapy with are coping skills or life lessons that have moved out of their initial context and become unhelpful or outright harmful. My approach is to identify the underlying beliefs, emotional and practical needs, and find a way to meet them with new tools and perspectives. It's not my job to tell someone what life to live, but to help them reach the life that feels ideal for them. My approaches balance emotional expression with adaptive thinking, and I use interpersonal neurobiology to give clients an idea of what their body and brain is doing.
Clinically, I can help with a number of issues, ranging from gender exploration, to chronic illness, to trauma. I have particular experience with disordered eating, gender and sexuality, kink and polyamory, neurodiversity (not limited to Autism and ADHD), disability and chronic pain, immigration/acculturation, and the furry/alterhuman communities.
I value understanding my clients, and helping them understand themselves. I also emphasize giving context and information. Nobody wants to do breathing exercises if they don't understand how and why they work and when they are (or aren't) useful! Please reach out to me if you want help aligning your inner and outer lives with one another.
