Specific areas that I help individuals, couples, and families with are addiction, trauma, depression, anxiety, intimacy & fertility issues, pregnancy & postpartum, break-ups, divorce, parenting, end of life decisions, boundary setting, life transitions (college, sandwich generation, empty nesting, new baby), traumatic brain injuries, chronic pain, and conflict and resolution communication. Areas of conflict resolution include: workplace, sibling, parent-child, and other relationships such as partner, spouse, or friends.

Dr. Steve Byers is excited to bring his talent to our communities! He is a licensed clinical psychologist that specializes in testing and assessment, plus offers individual therapy sessions. His person centered approach assists clients in developing goal orientated recommendations that allow clients to perform at their highest ability. Dr. Byers utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to acceptance and commitment, and more in between! His sessions will guide teens and adults in becoming comfortable with regulating their emotions and dealing with life’s challenges in a healthy manner.

Often we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed with our emotions or situations we are handling. Sometimes we feel stuck trying to move forward because it's not always easy to know what to do. We need a safe place to share, be heard and supported. This is what I provide for my clients. I believe the client/therapist relationship is imperative for positive change. Client problems come in all shapes and sizes, with all kinds of different life experiences and reasons and needs. Problems are common in the world, and it is hard to shoulder the responsibilities set on our shoulders. It can feel lonely with the burden that people carry, and it seems reasonable to find ways to meet needs that are not being met. Sometimes these can be unhealthy habits that just cause more problems. Sometimes, it leads to a build up of pressure until everything is overwhelming and out of control. It disrupts our Serenity, and building this back up sometimes needs a helper.
