I am passionate about meeting people where they are. I believe everyone is deserving of a safe space to heal and to nurture the necessary skills to approach life’s challenges. I have considerable experience providing mental health care in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings.

I am passionate about helping women and children to experience a better life! In my practice, I focus on providing play therapy to children up to age 10, with a special emphasis on the early childhood population. I also provide mental health treatment to parents and other caregivers who are having difficulties in these caregiving roles. I provide counseling for women who are struggling with relationships, stress and other life difficulties who are looking to find more balance in life.

I have a passion for working with behaviorally challenging kids, their parents, and women. I enjoy the process of sorting through the outward difficult behaviors and discovering the root of their actions. I have worked with troubled teens and tweens for more than 14 years and have discovered that there is always more than meets the eye with these youngsters. The teenaged years and the few preceding years are difficult times not only for the kids, but parents and caretakers. It may seem that nothing helps manage their behaviors and emotions. I can help kids and their parents find solutions to defiant behaviors.

Children have a outdated stereotype of being so resilient they can 'bounce back' from anything. This isn't always true. Children display reactions to traumatic experiences differently from adults that may not make sense to adults, may appear as "just annoying or whiny" or "a phase". When children don't have language to express themselves verbally, it will come out behaviorally! So maybe those behaviors mean bigger things when we look at what the child has experienced as a whole.

Life to me is an adventure of ups and downs where everyone has the potential to expand their emotional well-being. Through collaboration with the client, and often times a significant other or family, the therapeutic work done in session can promote a better quality of life. My experience in the social work field over the past 14 years includes working with client populations in medical social work, homeless and near homeless housing placement, and treatment for at risk client populations on the Rosbeud Reservation to develop skills and flexibility for working with most ages and client needs.

I think of therapy as a compassionate collaboration. Clients and I form a partnership in which we work together to not only change behavior, but to understand why we continue to make the same mistakes. We also develop a "roadmap" to avoid future problems by learning to spot "red flags" that may trigger old behaviors. Learning new coping skills and strengthening old ones are an intregal part of this process.

My main mission is to help my clients create their own life worth living as whatever that looks like to them in addition to working on building different skill sets to help them get to where they want to be. I utilize a holistic approach to help them reach their goals as I believe many aspects of that often get forgotten and are yet so essential.

Bryan Satterwhite and Nora Boesem bring expertise in working with children and adolescents with prenatal alcohol/drug exposure, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism, and attachment traumas. They bring years of experience and their own personal journeys with children’s mental health. They can help you to navigate some of the hardest moments as a family. Offering testing for FASD, autism, and functional developmental assessments. We provide individual therapy for all ages including adults who are experiencing suicidality and trauma.

I received my degree in Counseling and Psychology in Education and am a Licensed Professional Counselor-MH. I have worked with children and adolescents in individual, group and family settings for the past 24+ years. Special areas of interest include working with children and adolescents in areas related to: abuse issues, trauma, evaluations and therapy for children with sexualized behaviors, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, divorce issues, behavioral issues and adjustment issues. I also work with children, adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities.
