My role is to support others to work towards their healing holistically; I help them to unpack the pain that exists and recognize the impact on their mind, body, spirit and relationships. t is my intention to break down barriers in areas related to relationships, divorce, infidelity, blending families, adoption, anxiety, depression, and racial inequity in such a way that my clients feel more connected to their own sense of purpose & value.

My work is trauma informed, taking into consideration the specific needs of each individual based on their past experiences. When you are aware of the ways you are influenced by your past programming, we can put the tools in your hands to help you take control of your life. I strive to provide you with an empathetic space for you to become your truest self.

Currently, I'm only accepting male clients who have been sexually abused and/or assaulted. I work with men of all ages, including older men who have never talked about being sexually abused. While there are many female therapists who work well with male sexual abuse survivors, I believe being a straight male therapist with a wife and family helps. I also specialize in helping adult men with depression, anxiety, and other histories of trauma, such as physical and emotional abuse. I am certified in Interactional Guided Imagery, a trained EMDR therapist, facilitated over 100 psychodramas, and am effective and successful in my work.

My ideal client is someone who comes to therapy in a time of need. They might be experiencing anxiety due to life changes and transitions or they might be experiencing symptoms of anxiety for the first time and be concerned as to where the anxiety came from. The client might be processing loss or grief from a loved one or past friendships and or relationships. My ideal client will have needs such as needing to identify coping skills to get through life stressors, assistance with reaching goals. As a therapist I would be able to provide the client with a objective perspective to bounce their ideas and situations off of.

My goal as a therapist is to give people a safe space to be themselves. Life is tough sometimes, and having support is important to the healing and self-discovery processes. I learned through my own life’s challenges the value in having someone to be an accepting, empathetic listener who helps you unpack the bags that weigh you down.

Have you been feeling unfulfilled, bogged down with life’s demands, challenges from the pandemic or big life changes? Does it seem that no matter what you do, you can’t catch up or make important choices? Anxiety, trauma, outside pressures, or a breakup may have you feeling like you can no longer manage what life brings. Something is telling you that you need a shift and that how things have been going only reminding you of how unhappy you really are. Past trauma, relationships or life transition may have you feeling stuck and you know that it’s time to start creating new patterns in order to get to where you’ve always wanted to be

People come to me for therapy because: "I am miserable every morning and need a good reason to just get up." "I spend more time online than I do with actual people." " I wish I had more quality relationships. "The sex was not consensual...and no one believes me." "I can't believe everyone can have a baby but me." "I know my eating patterns need to be changed." Drawing on my 35+ years of practice with individuals, couples, and families, I can help you more quickly develop insights into established patterns of thinking and behavior that reinforce these problems.

My ideal client is the client that has an idea of what they want in life but is overwhelmed with life stressors such as anxiety and depression. This client needs a safe space to explore their life options and the triggers that are causing negative thinking patterns, self-doubt, and low self-confidence. This client needs support, encouragement, and a non-judgmental approach to achieve their goals.

I pride myself in tailoring my therapeutic approach to each client. My goal is to be as open as possible with my clients in continuing to look at why a specific treatment modality is being used. Transparency is an especially important part of the process. I also enjoy using humor as a way to build therapeutic rapport and as a tool for healing through self-empowerment.

Many find themselves at a point in their lives where external support is necessary to navigate life's challenges. My clients seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Some may come to therapy to deal with a specific struggle, such as anxiety or depression, while others initiate therapy during a difficult life transition. Even positive transitions, such as getting a new job or starting a new relationship can be stressful. Together, we will merge our resources to address these challenges in a safe environment by exploring patterns, processing events from the past, and creating plans for change in the future.

My idea of therapy is similar to using your GPS: you tell me where you want to go, and I'll show you how to get there. You will leave our sessions knowing exactly where you’re going, and I will be cheering you on along the way. Whether you are coming to therapy to conquer anxiety, process and heal from trauma, or to figure out what a meaningful and fulfilling life looks like for you, I am here and ready to help.
