Hi. My name is Ruth Cano and I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe in meeting my clients where they are at in their therapeutic journey. I aspire to create a nonjudgmental and welcoming environment to walk together in therapeutic goal progress. I have 8 years working experience with children, adolescents and their families who come from challenging parenting backgrounds and are exposed to many stressors within the home and school settings. I have many years treating clients at risk of suicidal ideation and extensive work in safety planning with clients and their families that are at risk.

I provide therapy to assist with Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder, Persistent Depression, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, Mood Disorders ,Insomnia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, ADHD, Emotional Challenges, Trauma, and Relationship Issues. The symptoms listed above can be a direct effect of chronic medical issues, trauma, micro aggression, systematic racism and the overall stressors of everyday life.

Fulfilling my role as a therapist means a great deal to me, as does building genuine connections with my clients. It is through that genuine connection that I can assist you in navigating through depressive, anxious, traumatic, and stress-related symptoms.

I have twelve years of experience working with at-risk youth, homeless adults with a chronic & persistent mental illness, and in the education system with students of all ages. I am passionate about working with preteens, adolescents, young adults, and individuals. I provide a safe & empathetic space, working with individuals who struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, identity issues, feelings of hopelessness, stress, low self worth, adjustment to life changes, school related challenges, and relationship conflict. I also have first hand experience with those involved in missions work, those that have been adopted, and those who have lost a parent to a fatal disease.
