Few things are as miserable as damaged trust in a relationship. This takes many forms. You’re mad, hurt, and don’t know if you want to stay or not. When you’ve done things you regret, you feel lost, guilty, confused, and conflicted. When it is you that has been emotionally hurt, you feel betrayed and now your safe place is gone. Frequent ugly fights leave you resentful and walking on eggshells, waiting for one to crack. Your person is openly and publicly disinterested, critical, or unsupportive. Then there is infidelity, which feels like a bomb exploded in your life, and now you are living a 24/7 bad dream.

Hello! I am Deena Harbaugh. My practice focuses on adults struggling with the aftereffects of incest/sexual abuse, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, trauma, family of origin issues, divorce, marriage conflict, and LGBTQ issues.

Amy Jo enjoys working with clients who are dealing with grief and loss, relationship dynamics, life transitions, sexual issues, communication, as well as anxiety and depression. She approaches counseling through a lens of curiosity and aims to help individuals make connections and see patterns in their personal history that allow them a clearer view of the present, giving them an opportunity to grow. Katie Smelko is passionate about the beauty that can come from broken places and wants to see you healthy in body, heart, and mind. She believes that all of these aspects contribute to you thriving. By co-creating a safe space for openness, processing, and healing, she will partner with you to identify questions and experiences that may be interfering with your sense of wholeness. She specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, as well as those who deal with issues that are often linked with trauma experiences. These include substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders.

I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, family of origin and relationship concerns, life transitions, parenting, low self-esteem, identity, and sexual issues, among other concerns. In my own path to parenthood, I discovered the importance of supportive mental health services for parents during such a pivotal transition. I specialize in working with people through the complexity of identity, relationships, and life roles during pregnancy, fertility, birth, parenthood, and postpartum. I also incorporate multiple facets of cultural identity into my work with clients.

Life is HARD - you can't seem to catch a break! You feel exhausted, anxious, sad, and guilty a lot of the time. You want to feel better, but don't know where to begin, it's all so overwhelming and you feel stuck. It's tough when you try SO hard to be a good person, but nothing you do works - I think it's time you start making time for you! OR maybe you're an athlete dealing with performance anxiety, injury or fear of re-injury, or an identity shift post-retirement. You lost your confidence and aren't sure how to get it back. Together we will reignite your confidence and get you back into flow and fun with a mastery of skills.

I have had success working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, coping with agitation, addictions, codependency, relationship and interpersonal issues, building self-esteem and self-worth, coping with crisis and grief issues. I enjoy helping clients navigate transitions in life such as, marriage, divorce, career or other curve balls often thrown at us. Many of my clients are working through a past history of abuse. I have a strong belief in the mind body connection, so I also find success working with individuals experiencing pain and fatigue.

You might feel pressure to follow a specific path, your idea of the future may look different from what others have in mind for you, or you may not be sure where to begin and you notice yourself feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, or depressed. As your therapist I will create a space for you to process difficult thoughts, feelings, and experiences of being an emerging adult, while working towards achievable goals for your future. I create an environment of safety, positive regard, and empathy, because that is often what we need most.

What do you do when you feel like you have no idea what comes next? I specialize in helping emerging adults and millennials navigate through the major confusion that is adulting. As your therapist, we will work through all of your current difficulties and create a game plan for you to reach your goals. My ideal clients are those with a spiritual perspective who have done a lot of inner exploration and are ready to get to the bottom of their issues. They know they have an important God-given mission to fulfill and need help in fulfilling this mission. (We all do!) They want to be of service to humanity and all of life but feel some internal resistance, which is holding them back. They desire to mature to psychological adulthood and are willing to exert the time and effort to arrive at this worthy goal. Those with chronic illness who are eager to know what their souls are communicating through each symptom also make ideal clients.

Often the people who find me first are the families of my actual clients. They are seeking care for a loved one who is either developing symptoms or has been diagnosed with Psychosis. Most often families and friends don't really know what's happening, they just know that something has drastically changed. But finding treatment for Psychosis, outside of calling the 911 or going to an emergency department, is often very challenging. The good news is there is hope! Treatment for Psychosis has come a long way in the past years. The earlier a person starts treatment, then the better the outcomes are!

I specialize with working with adults and adolescents (14+), who are experiencing distress from past traumatic experiences, difficult life transitions, and identity meaning making. I often work with clients who are hoping to find healing from traumatic experiences and exploration of faith through spiritual disciplines, expressive arts therapy techniques, somatic techniques, IFS, and inner-child work.
