Having worked with many veterans at the VA Medical Center, I also have special interests in trauma and sleep difficulties including insomnia and nightmares (CBT-I and IRT).
I believe therapy is most helpful in an atmosphere of acceptance and respect. In a safe and collaborative environment, we can work together toward your personal goals. I am passionate about helping my clients cope with life stressors, to get relief from painful emotional symptoms, and to feel understood. Beginning therapy is not easy. My approach to therapy begins with helping clients to define their goals and to empower them to move toward the most fulfilling life possible.

I am a Licensed Social Worker, and earned my MSW at the University of Pennsylvania focusing on veterans mental health concerns, trauma, and grief and loss.
You are the expert of your own experience. Your journey, whether perceived as positive or negative, pragmatic or painful, belongs to you. For many people, this journey is overwhelming and can lead to confusion, conflict, and isolation. As a curious partner, I combine practical clinical knowledge with educated guidance to serve as a compass while we explore your narrative together.

I want to help first generation immigrant women because the struggles and challenges are unique. It is very difficult to find a therapist who has also experienced the generational/cultural views that often impede on our growth. It is very troublesome when we are trying to stay in tune with our cultural values while being modernized by American culture. First Generation Immigrants often feel the struggle of maintaining a balance and feeling inadequate because of unique morals.

If you are the person, everyone turns to, who do YOU turn to? You give everything to everyone else but never have time for you. It gets tiring always being the ''strong'' one. I see you. You might be struggling to get through the day or question yourself and your worth. This can look like anxiety, depression, problems recovering from a traumatic experience as an adult or as a child.

Do you feel like you're just going through the motions? If you answered yes to any of these questions then you're in the right place. I can help you cope and heal from sexual and relationship trauma. Trauma can fracture who you are as a person. It can make you feel unlike yourself, distant from others, changed forever. This does not have to be permanent. Together, we can build resilience, access your strengths, and free you from your past. Learning to understand your trauma, manage symptoms, change patterns, and increase self-esteem can help you cultivate the life and meaningful relationships that you want. Most of my clients have experienced rape, sexual assault, childhood abuse, systemic oppression, and/or violence from a partner.

Waitlist for new clients
I have worked in both individual and group settings, serving women with eating disorders and other co-morbid mental illnesses, such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was important for me to continue to serve the needs of individuals struggling with Eating Disorders, disordered eating and body image issues. In addition, I wanted to expand my range of therapy to include therapies for couples and families as well as for individuals. I value supporting clients in developing a greater understanding of themselves to improve their view of self, how they interact with others and the world around them.

This loss knocked the wind out of you. You tell the world “I’m fine” but there is a part of you that knows you’re not. Intense sorrow invades everything you do. The stress to get through, to be strong, to not let others down, is immense—you're exhausted. Just last week you felt some relief for a brief moment, a flash of hope. Just as quickly it dissolved and you’re preoccupied with searing bleakness—again. It’s not too much to want a break from this unwanted & relentless heartache, and find a place of emotional rest. It’s not too much to really know that this will end & that there is a way in and through. Trust that you can do this.

I enjoy treating adults, teens, couples (married or otherwise), and families who are suffering from a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, illness, recent loss, drug and substance abuse and/or a history of trauma (emotional, physical and mental).I specialize in working with couples (married or otherwise). The relational dynamic and negative reinforcement cycles intimate partners find themselves trapped in are the things I have a strong knack for noticing and interrupting to allow couples to find new ways to improve their relationship quality.

Many find themselves at a point in their lives where external support is necessary to navigate life's challenges. My clients seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Some may come to therapy to deal with a specific struggle, such as anxiety or depression, while others initiate therapy during a difficult life transition. Even positive transitions, such as getting a new job or starting a new relationship can be stressful. Together, we will merge our resources to address these challenges in a safe environment by exploring patterns, processing events from the past, and creating plans for change in the future.
