With a profound commitment to making a positive impact, I specialize in working with veterans, drawing upon my own experiences in the military to connect empathetically with those who have served our country. Having navigated the challenges of military service myself, I understand the unique struggles faced by veterans, and it is my mission to provide them with the compassionate support.

Welcome. I'm Dr. Janelle Smith, but most of my clients just call me "Doc." I'm a licensed clinical psychologist and have been in the mental health field for over 10 years. My approach is collaborative, strength-based, and solution-oriented. I work with my clients to determine how to apply research-proven techniques in their lives to help reduce difficulties and increase quality of life. Together, we'll develop tools and skills, and use our therapy space as a sounding board to support you while we work together through your concerns. I value client feedback and work to tailor my approach to what works best for you!

I specialize in working with Adults, Adolescents, Veterans, and Families struggling with Substance Use Disorders, Process Addictions, Anxiety/Depression, Trauma/PTSD, Self-Esteem, Shame, Grief and Loss. Throughout the years of my experience, I’ve worked with Individuals and Families in both mental health treatment facilities and substance use treatment centers.

Welcome! I’m Matt, and I believe that therapy is about making a human connection and working together to overcome your unique challenges. My approach to therapy is conversational and focused on building a trusting relationship. We all have different experiences and beliefs, and I work to ensure that our therapeutic space is welcoming, safe, and judgment-free. It can be a struggle to find someone that understands the unique challenges of military service, and as a U.S. Army veteran myself I take special pride in being able to work with fellow veterans and their families.

I have been working with individuals and couples for 25 years. I see ages 14 and up. I enjoy helping couples and teens. My interests include communication skills, anger management, self-harm, relationship issues, parenting, depression, bi-polar and adjustment disorders. I also am an LGBTQ+ ally and military friendly.

There are some who are looking for ways to navigate through their current challenges. Others are needing to come to terms with their past. Many are trying to salvage what they still have: marriages, families, relationships etc. In the middle of it all are the questions of: "Who am I?" "Why am I here?" and "What should I do?". The want is there, the desire is there and the needs are legitimate, but the confusion is real and the questions are many. Can you relate? Looking for answers? You've come to the right place. Life can feel especially challenging if your journey has taken you on a path outside of the social norms. People who have experienced life in the military, those who deal with depression & anxiety, couples who are struggling in their relationships, and people of faith can often feel secluded. As a counselor I strive to normalize life experiences and assist in navigating the situations that my clients encounter. My goal is to provide a space for hope, strength, and growth.

My team and I aim to help you move pass relationship issues, feeling overwhelmed, unhappy, frustrated or angry. We are ready to help you if you have experienced the loss of a loved one, or have daily feelings of sadness, fatigue or anxiety. We are able to help, if you've had to deal with emotional distress due to physical pain, lack of energy due to medical issues. Perhaps are you faced with job stress/loss, divorce or just an overall feeling of frustration from the daily cares of life? We care and can help you sort things through.

I am a LLPC, 24 + yr Police Veteran, military veteran, and served 9+ years as a pastor. Are you a first responder, military, front-line worker, clergy, counselor, or a person who feels they have to help others and yet struggle to help yourself? Some people aren’t good at asking for help, they are used to being “the helper.” Subsequently, you have experienced an unbalanced give and take. Truth - your instinct is usually “ I’ll figure it out on my own.” As you might know this self-reliance is all you have ever known. However, you are facing anxiety, depression, grief, and possibly other feelings that consume your current situation.

Potential Clients- It’s inevitable at some point something happens and we don't know how to address it more-less fix it. It is vital to have someone who will actually listen and accept us as we are flaws and all, without judgment or pity. My education and background allows me to have a unique approach to counseling. LLPC’s- If you are looking for someone who will help you get fully licensed as quickly as possible then I am your person. Even the most experienced therapists struggle- what’s more important is what you learn from that struggle. You deserve a strong supervisor who has a solid grasp on ethics and our profession.

I am able to provide supportive, effective therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a variety of issues, including trauma, substance abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. I have extensive experience working with high risk families and individuals, as well as substance abuse, family therapy, and youth services.

I am a Limited Licensed Psychologist specializing in EMDR Therapy.  I use EMDR to treat the impacts of traumatic events, PTSD, grief, anger, and addictions including substance and sexual addictions. I primarily work with Veterans and First Responders, and individuals on the front lines of taking care of others. When you face the dangers of the world head-on on a daily basis, asking for help may feel counterintuitive. At the same time, avoiding problems, thinking they will get better on their own, or denial of their existance (despite the evidence) is a guaranteed path to less-than-ideal outcomes.

I work with individuals who need help with mood/depression, grief/loss (including pet loss), anxiety, and stress. My client history includes medical professionals and first responders experiencing burnout. I have a long history of working with military veterans and PTSD. I specialize in disability and work-related problems.

Theresa graduated from Walden University in 2018 with her Master's Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in medical, military, PTSD, and trauma. Theresa's experience after graduation includes adult case management with inner-city Detroit clients, outpatient therapy in a community mental health agency, working with substance abuse, and clients with both substance abuse/mental health diagnoses, and adult clients on probation/previous incarceration. She is able to engage with adults from all cultures and "walks of life". Theresa served in the Army as a combat medic honorably discharged in 2000 and continues to volunteer with Veterans.
