Welcome! I’m Dr. Rachel Butler, a Licensed Psychologist based in Louisville, Kentucky. I offer individual therapy sessions to help with a range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body image, obsessive compulsive disorder, and trauma. My style is warm, collaborative, empathetic, and acceptance-based. I love working with clients to help them confront their fears, identify what is keeping them stuck, and live a more meaningful, fulfilling life based on their values. I am licensed to see patients in both Kentucky and Indiana. I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology with emphasis training in Behavioral Health and Spanish Counseling. I completed my post doctoral residency in general mental health with Veterans Affairs. I have specialty training in LGBTQ+ issues and trauma recovery; including certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. I focus on trauma initially because what I have found in over 6 years of work as a trauma therapist, is that so much of our present concerns and limitations is rooted in trauma exposure and history.
