Most clients come into therapy because of their current difficulty resolving a "presenting problem". That problem could be grief. It could be relationship troubles with partners, peers, or parents. It could be tied to substance abuse. Or trauma. Or both. It could be work-related. It could be a million things. Whatever the presenting problem, it tends to give the client physiological and psychological discomfort, which leads to the search for answers and relief, which often leads to counseling.

I sincerely believe that each of us is born into this world deserving of happiness, safety, and love. Life is often the hardest on the kindest of souls. Many of my patients have suffered complex and extensive adverse experiences throughout their lifespan, compounded by their intersectional identities. They come from all walks of life and have experiences specific to complex trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, narcissistic family systems, estrangement, divorce, and self-identity. These experiences have made it difficult for them to connect with others, verbalize their needs, and feel worthy of existing as their true selves. Together we will work collaboratively on developing trust and exploring who you are at your core.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, distinct traumatic events/complex trauma, grief/loss, stress management, boundary setting, life transitions, relationship issues, therapy for therapists, emotional regulation skills, and identity development. One of my passions is working with women of color and first-generation child of immigrants dealing with the impacts of intersectionality, marginalization, immigration, acculturation, and generational/historical trauma. I also love working with couples helping them work on their communication, rebuild connection, and reducing negativity.

I have over twenty years of experience working with children, families, couples, individuals, and groups. I have ample experience working Latinx clients, immigrant families, and multiracial couples.
