I provide neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy services to people across the lifespan including EMDR, neurofeedback, child-centered play therapy, child-parent relationship training, activity therapy for adolescents, and attachment-based psychotherapy for adults.

I am a mother to 3 adult children, grandmother to the sweetest girl, and the wife of a very gifted husband. As a therapist, I've been challenged in treating people to a standard or healed. Every medical profession, except that of mental health, has a standard to bring a client to, in order to be considered healthy or healed. The Optometrist corrects vision to 20/20, a dentist corrects teeth to be straight or with no cavities, an orthopedic doctor corrects broken bones back in alignment. Therapists are called on to help restore, heal, and empower clients to move forward in life.

Distressing symptoms in the present often are from situations in the past which when addressed people report feeling free in the present to become their authentic selves and accomplish their goals. I wanted to become better prepared and so studied beyond basic EMDR training to become a Certified EMDR Therapist with the International Association (EMDRIA). Primarily I work with veterans, adults, young adults and seniors that struggle with past unresolved trauma or distress, PTSD, over reactions, anger, depression, anxiety and fear, impulsivity, low self esteem and confidence, emotional mood swings, as well as aging issues.

Sometimes we may compare life to hiking a mountain with a 100lb pack, in the rain, with mud up to our shins. We are weighed down, can't see far in front of us, and footing is slippery. Other times, we may find ourselves constantly on the go and when we lay down at night our minds buzz with the events of the day, our to-do list for tomorrow, and the worries of life. I served as a military psychologist in the USAF from 2001-2008, both in the US and overseas. I moved to Colorado in 2008, and as a civilian I've continued working with all branches of the military and their families. I've treated military and sexual trauma extensively. I have worked closely with folks who have experienced mild to terrible to horrifying events. I don't flinch.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience. I am a former military psychologist and military wife. I have experience with deployment issues, military sexual trauma, re-integration issues, special duty clearances, and other related stressors and trauma. I understand the sensitivity of special clearances. I have a significant amount of experience in psychological testing and neuropsychological screening, to help with accurate diagnosing and for treatment planning. I approach problems using a biopsychosocial model to address possible causes and the maintenance of those problems.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families, who are willing to do whatever it takes to improve their well-being. By sharing your concerns, together we can develop a workable solution-focused plan to bring solid changes and make the greatest impact on problem issues.
