I work with healthy individuals with life challenges as well as those suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship problems and parenting issues. I am adept at working with PTSD and Sexual Abuse Survivors. I love working with High School students, College age and beyond. I can assist you with your career and life direction. I am easy to connect with as I am not only approachable, and you will find me casual and laid back in a comfortable, non-intimidating environment.

My goal is to provide quality services to those who are faced with challenges in their lives and are seeking assistance in effectively managing these challenges. I am a bilingual (Spanish) therapist who approaches each session acknowledging that an individual's reality is unique, with a sense of humor, no judgement, and with a person-centered stance. Trust and vulnerability are not expectations that I hold for initial sessions. I understand that trust is earned and, without it, having an honest dialogue is challenging. Max Guttman is the owner of Recovery Now, a private mental health practice in New York City. Through his work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, therapist, and disability rights advocate, Max fights for those without a voice in various New York City care systems. He received a ‘2020 Bearcats of the Last Decade 10 Under 10’ award from the Binghamton University Alumni Association. Guttman treats clients with anxiety and depression but specializes in issues related to psychosis or schizoaffective spectrum disorders.

Assist with Identifying negative or distorted thinking patterns that often lead to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Provide psycho-education on specific life problems that may increase depression and help patients understand how to solve or improve on those problems.

I use a range of approaches: it may be solution-focused, psychodynamic, and/or Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment (CBT) depending upon your goals and needs. A career transition specialist, I use the MBTI to help clients create a plan of action to find a more satisfying direction.
