Trauma changes us and the way we see the world. In fact it takes things away from us that we really want. Surviving trauma makes clients resilient, but can leave them feeling disconnected from themselves and the world. Their struggles may look like anxiety, depression, avoidance, chronic physical illness, loss of sense of self or grief that does not go away. I am specialized in EMDR trauma therapy and Mindfulness-Holistic Psychotherapy. I work with adults who need support with trauma connected to complex grief, divorce, disruptive family relationships/attachments, sexual trauma, childhood abuse, or other stressful life transitions.
EMDR therapy is a research-backed approach useful for many people. With EMDR I help clients reconnect with themselves to process big emotions and traumatic events that felt stuck for a long time. I utilize a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporating mindfulness and somatic interventions to tailor the therapy to the specific needs of each client.
Together we create a safe work environment by creating a strong alliance and using your life story which integrates your character strengths, history, and cultural background to help you manage your identified areas for growth. If you are ready for change, I have daytime and evening appointments. I accept Carefirst insurance. Schedule an appointment today.
