Working with trauma survivors is extremely rewarding in that the opportunities for change is great.
I am a Licensed Psychologist Master with over thirty years experience in working with adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect. Depression, anxiety, or just a sense of life feeling less than what it could be, may be signs of childhood abuse or neglect. I help people navigate the sometimes choppy waters from their past in order to be fully living in the present. I am trained by Pia Melody in Post Induction Therapy for addressing the effects of codependence: low self esteem, impaired boundaries, knowing who you are , and difficulties with self care. Trauma creates addictions creates relational problems.

I help clients move through stressful times and life challenges by developing healthier relationships and emotional patterns. I am a trained Internal family system (IFS) therapist and my therapeutic style is most aligned with the IFS model. As a therapist, I am both very supportive of my clients and I also provide feedback and opportunities for growth. I view therapy as both an art and a science. I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual client.

I work over telehealth with individuals that are LGBTQIA+ (while they may or may not identify as being a part of this "community", for sake of ease of description, I use this acronym). Often people come to me with depression, trauma , anxiety, relationship issues, and eating disorders. They want to live with less shame and more ease through out their days and lives. They want to be able to feel safe, seen, heard, and understood as much as possible. I am passionate about serving these marginalized folks and acknowledge intersectionality of various identities within each individual. Sliding scale options are full at this time.

As a therapist, my approach is grounded in blending Internal Family Systems (IFS) understandings (includes psychodynamic and mindfulness practices) and somatic psychotherapy to increase aliveness, build meta-cognitive self-understanding, and promote self-regulation. This approach works with the whole person by addressing conflicts cognitively, emotionally and physically. Clients can gain greater awareness of old patterns of action and reaction, increased capacity to tolerate and resolve conflict or trauma and enhanced ability to experience pleasure.

I have extensive knowledge with child mental health challenges, and developmental trauma .
Bruce D. Perry stated, ""Relationships are the agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love." In family systems therapy, familial relationships, patterns, communication, and behaviors are examined within and beyond the therapy session, allowing for assessment, observation, and guidance around how certain behaviors could be impacting your family or organization, and how your perception directly affects outcomes. It all begins with valuing ourselves so that we can be self fulfilled and relationally fulfilled. I believe one person can make a difference. I personally and professionally strive to be that person.

I have spent most of my career working with clients who have experienced trauma , sexual abuse, anxiety, and depression.
Greetings! My approach is client- centered; I work to build a positive, trusting relationship that focuses on your concerns and goals. I believe that our positive and negative thoughts often control or motivate our behaviors and feelings. if we can learn to question and change our negative thoughts, we can then start to shift our feelings and behaviors towards more positive outcomes.

"Long-lasting responses to trauma result not simply from the experience of fear and helplessness but also from how our bodies interpret those experiences." (Rachel Yehuda) Trauma can be thought of as an experience that overwhelms the individual's ability to process the event as it is happening. I work with children, adolescents and adults who have been impacted by trauma , to help bring relief to their lives. By partnering with individuals to help release stress, we can co-create a fresh, new framework for future experiences.

I have a special interest in working with clients recovering from trauma .
I am currently not accepting new clients. We all have our own path to walk and challenges to face, but we don’t need to be alone on our journey to meet challenges, heal and grow. I believe in the power of a therapist/client relationship based on non-judgment, trust, openness, compassion and support. I work to create a safe space where the client can feel safe to discuss their experience. My approach comes from a humanistic, person-centered, psycho-dynamic perspective incorporating techniques from Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Neuroscience, Compassion Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a psychological reaction that occurs after an extremely stressful event, such as physical violence or military combat. Those suffering from PTSD have recurring memories of the stressful event and are anxious or scared even in the absence of danger. Flashbacks and nightmares are common symptoms as well.
