Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, LCMHC, LPC, NCC
I’ve been a therapist since the early 1980s when I was in my early 20s.I am happy working with all kinds of people dealing with all kinds of issues, from deep psychodynamic work to problem solving. The work is always intended to address the whole person. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, which is part of the beauty of this work
Welcome to my therapy practice! My name is Ivy Zeller, MA, LCMHC. I am a Vermont licensed clinical mental health counselor with a private practice located in Montpelier, VT. I have been serving adults, teens, children and families in a variety of helping roles since 1997. I specialize in treating individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and substance use.
I am currently offering equine assisted therapy in Northern Vermont for individuals, couples and families. If you are stuck in patterns that you're ready to move on from; wanting closeness in your relationships but aren't sure what is holding you back; if you are experiencing mental health symptoms that frustrate and confuse you, I can support you in gaining increased awareness of your strengths, the meaning of your difficulties, and in accessing your ability to heal and grow. Please see my website for more information about equine therapy.
*Not accepting new clients at this time* I help people overcome challenges and make changes in their lives by providing a balance of comforting support and honest feedback. My goal is to help individuals become the best versions of themselves. My approach, although individualized to each person, draws on strategies which empower clients to find their own strengths and can include cognitive behavioral, dialectical, and person-centered interventions.
I have been a substance abuse and mental health clinician for 19 years. I have worked in residential, intensive outpatient, outpatient, medically assisted therapy, and school settings providing prevention, intervention, assessment, treatment, and referral services. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in group and individual sessions providing both education and therapy. I am qualified to provide license reinstatement counseling for the State of Vermont.
Therapy can be a daunting step to take. My approach to therapy is largely founded in building a strong, compassionate, safe space to foster a healthy therapeutic relationship. I use empathy, humor, and my past experiences to aid in building this bond.
