I approach therapy holistically, influenced by a career in which I found myself continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to better support my clients' health and well-being goals. I started in athletics and fitness before branching into dietetics, noting its importance as well. Still, my knowledge felt incomplete as I observed how people's relationship with food and their bodies was deeply affected by their emotional state of mind, their experiences, their relationships, and their perspective on what it means to be human. Incorporating psychology enabled me to fully integrate the interplay between the mind and body in therapy.
I believe people need to feel good; have the energy of body, clarity of mind and self confidence to be the best version of themselves. I have worked with individuals with disordered eating and body concerns for 30 years and have concluded that how they care for themselves is foundation. I treat anxiety and mood with integrated care; mind, body and heart. I am trained in lifestyle medicine, as well as eating disorders, so whatever end of the spectrum you fall, I got you and I get you. End the end, the relationship with our body and ourselves is the basis of all other relationships. So let's get started!

When you are anxious, everything becomes something to worry about. It feels like you are always on edge, waiting for something bad to happen. Try as you might, its hard to push the worry away, and it stays with you, looming like a cloud hanging over you. It's hard to sleep well; worried thoughts keep running through your head. You find yourself snapping at people you care about. You're exhausted, and it's hard to concentrate. Your body just feels tense, your shoulders, your jaw, your chest. You want to just be your old self again, care-free, and not stressed. You want to feel like you are in control again.

How amazing would it be if there was one 'go-to' book to guide everyone in learning how to live their lives to the fullest, discover true happiness, and relish in the satisfaction of working through the daily challenges we are handed. I have yet to discover this book. However, in my 13 years of working with children, youth, adults, and families with emotional and behavioral challenges I've learned that our experiences in life, no matter how difficult, are important and shape how we relate to others, how we feel, and move through this journey of life.
