Hi, I'm Verla! I specialize in trauma work, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship challenges, family conflict, and complex life experiences. I bring a unique blend of scientific rigor and compassionate care to everything I do. I majored in Biochemistry with a focus in Pre-Med from the University of South Florida as an undergrad. I cultivated a deep understanding of human biology, the sciences and their relationship to mental health. Driven by a growing passion for mental wellness, I went on to receive my Master’s degree in Counseling from National Louis University, graduating with highest honors and maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and empowering space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. Through compassionate presence, cultural humility, and evidence-based practices, I aim to build authentic, trusting relationships that foster healing and self-discovery. I strive to walk alongside each individual, supporting meaningful change.

These roles have deepened my commitment to serving underrepresented communities, provided hands-on experience with trauma-informed care, and strengthened my skills in dealing with people.
