My primary modalities are EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I've worked with trauma and injustice for many years, and I recognize the courage it takes to trust another person with the most vulnerable parts of yourself. In my office, I strive to provide a therapeutic space where all parts feel welcome, where you can experience something radically different and practice new and courageous ways of relating to yourself and to others. I've successfully helped teenagers, adults and couples experience healing from trauma and unresolved events, peace from anxiety and acceptance in times of grief.
My work centers on building connections between what we know and what we feel; this bridge allows us to let go of past limitations, thrive in the present and travel towards the future we deserve. My frame is justice-focused, anti-oppressive and identity-affirming.
In addition to my clinical practice, I'm an expert witness, a trainer and consultant on issues of psychological trauma in the United States and abroad, and I hold faculty positions at Columbia University and The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.
