My training and experience includes areas of perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, preparation for parenthood, life transitions, teen mood & anxiety disorders, and attachment. There are times in our lives where we may feel like we're struggling to move forward-- to sleep, to eat, to connect with others. You may be here because you haven't been feeling like yourself lately or are feeling like you're not "good enough." Adding to that, you might be at a crossroads in your life: experiencing pregnancy, entering college, picking a career path, having a child, or deciding who you want to be. Life is unpredictable and often does not turn out as we had hoped for and planned. The things that matter most to us -- our health, marriages, children, careers, families, friends and even our own self-identity -- sometimes fall apart. It is my belief that such moments of vulnerability present profound opportunities for growth. It takes strength and emotional intelligence to know when you need the assistance of a professional; coming to therapy is a positive first stride towards investing in your own sustainable happiness and contentment.

Therapy doesn't have to feel cold and clinical. I'm a warm, strength-based, client centered therapist. I focus on treating anxiety, eating disorders, body image, chronic dieting, and depression.

We work with all variety of concerns, including acute and chronic depression and anxiety, abuse and trauma, LGBTQ issues, conflicted relationships, and personality disorders. Now accepting new clients! My theoretical approach is one of self-awareness. Having a healthy relationship with you in order to have healthy relationships with others. The modalities I use the most are CBT, DBT, and ACT. In these we learn how to communicate more effectively, detach from negativity, embrace positivity and live an intentional life. We address trauma, boundaries, emotional self-management, and how to have relationships that work. LGBTQA+ friendly. As a certified domestic violence, and substance abuse clinician, I am well versed in trauma informed care and systems needs.

Counseling is for everyone. I enjoy walking with people through difficult seasons in their lives, watching them come out with new perspectives and strengths. I have experience with medical situations, including: crisis, trauma, grief/loss, new diagnosis, school issues, and professional caregiver support. I also enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to my work with adults, I have a special interest in working with children and adolescents. My hope is to help you ease the emotional and mental suffering that goes along with life-rocking transitions, to find optimal functioning and wellness in the life you want.

As a trauma survivor myself, I know first-hand the importance of having compassionate, attuned support for engaging in deep work. I offer a relational approach to therapy, drawing from my training in trauma, safety, attachment, and emotional regulation. The current research shows that we can’t “talk our way out” trauma, pain, or discomfort. So the therapy I offer is experiential and relational, using the body and nervous system as resources for building resiliency and feeling more at ease.

Instead, I emphasize skillful use of the therapy relationship to work deeply with a wide range of issues, challenges and presentations - honoring diversity in my work with people, ideas and identities.

The goal of treatment is to provide outpatient mental health services, which eliminate or substantially reduce communication and/or social/ cultural barriers. My treatment encourages the involvement of natural support systems available to individuals and families. The goal is the client should live in the community as least restrictively as possible an environment, with minimal Dependance on public safety and acute care resources. To enable patients to establish or maintain appropriate residences and or to advert crisis and re-hospitalization or more restrictive levels of care. The client has the right to refuse treatment.
