I believe that people have the ability to change and heal through talk therapy. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, and warm environment where my clients can become the individuals they want to be. My therapeutic style is an integration of psychodynamic, humanistic, and interpersonal therapies, while always holding cultural identities and values. I use mind/body based practices to help individuals reduce stress and increase their sense of connectedness to themselves and others. I assist my clients in identifying barriers, maximizing their strengths, and building self-compassion from a position of empathy and genuineness.
My professional interests include the intersection of culture, identities, and spirituality with mental wellness. I am also very passionate about trauma work as well as reducing stigma that is often connected to trauma experiences. I have advanced training in specialty treatments specifically for trauma, including exposure therapy.
I am bilingual (English / Spanish) and provide counseling and psychotherapy in both languages.
