Hi there, I'm Vanessa. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor living in the state of Texas. Often reducing depression, anxiety, and stress are common goals I have assisted in attaining. Also, grief processing and improving family communication skills are needs I have addressed. For my approach I choose Reality Therapy. I also find Cognitive/Behavioral techniques useful.
As a counselor, I assist my clients in their awareness of their progress. I ask what are desired goals are and assist in achieving those goals. Successful care is achieved by the client knowing goals are attained, and needs are met.
I am accepting and non-judgmental. I chose counseling as a career due to my interest in assisting others struggling with life. Since I have been easily accepted to share, at times, acquaintances' experiences and provide support, counseling was a positive fit for me.
