Hello! My name is Mikaela Gray and I am an outpatient therapist at Valley View Counseling LLC. I have always had a love for people and have worked many years in my communities as a volunteer with teens and adults. It has been a joy to make my passion my career. I work with teens (16+), adults, and couples concerning a range of issues such as; depression, anxiety, self-esteem, self-harm, emotional regulation, communication difficulties, life-transitions, grief and loss, and healing from trauma. It is my hope to provide a judgement free environment for self-exploration, psycho-education, and a compassionate pathway toward change.
I take a person-centered and emotionally focussed approach to counseling. I also utilize forms of cognitive behavioral therapy to provide structure, introduce coping skills, and alternative ways of thinking/being. Most importantly. I believe it is the trust that is built within the therapeutic relationship that provides the greatest avenue toward change.
Reaching out for help and finding the right therapist can be challenging and uncomfortable. Since I began a career in counseling, it has been of primary importance to create a process where seeking help and trying therapy feels as easy and full of hope as possible.
