My focus as a therapist is to help assure a feeling of emotional safety and comfortableness. I view my role as a guide in the journey of healing and change and humor helps. I specialize in EMDR developed to help with trauma; however, can be helpful with treating anything you might feel stuck in. I work with adults, adolescents and children providing individual and family therapy. parenting guidance and support, and couples counseling. I also provide play therapy, CBT, Self-Compassion and other treatment modalities based on needs. I have been in the mental health field for 29 years and in outpatient/private practice for the past 14.
I have been providing EMDR for 14 years and play therapy for 26 years. Play therapy can be powerful with helping children, teenagers or adults. Especially with children since their brains are still developing and play is their natural language. I also work with anxiety, depression, ADHD, life stressors, overwhelmed parents or just overwhelmed in life.
