I am Dr. Valerie Minnich, PhD, LPC(PA), NCC, CAADC, ACS. My clinical areas of practice are mental health and addictions. To best serve clients, I use a strength-based, client-centered approach. I follow evidence-based practices to structure each session and incorporate appropriate interventions. I work with Dialect Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I have a background in medicine and help clients with medication management from a mental health perspective.
I work with clients struggling with addiction, recovery, long-term sobriety, and mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. I also work with clients to navigate transitions and relationship (intimate, social, or familial) issues.
The therapeutic environment is open and mutually respectful. I am here to support clients on their journey. Goal setting is done together in the first few sessions. Time is spent getting to know each other, and then a comprehensive, goal-oriented plan is made with achievable action steps to promote growth and success in therapy.
