Hi! I'm Valerie. I understand the extent to which anxiety can take over your life, and my aim is to help you regain a sense of control. I have experience working with young adults and adults who struggle with excessive worry, panic attacks, obsessions, and compulsions (e.g., reassurance-seeking, checking behaviors, etc.). I will work with you to help develop better ways of coping that will allow you to manage the intense fear or worries that may currently be difficult for you to control.
I have experience in both outpatient and psychiatric hospital settings where I have worked with individuals in various life stages. I have worked in programs specifically tailored to treat young adults (18-26), adults, and older adults (65+), where clients present with issues such as mood, anxiety, personality, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
I approach treatment through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens, and work to foster an environment that feels warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental. I value incorporating humor into my approach and hope for you to be your true self in session. I feel honored to be able to hear your story and be a support for you when you are struggling.
