I help teenagers and adults navigate anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and substance-related disorders, as well as the overthinking, negative core beliefs, relationship struggles, and ruminative thoughts that so often accompany them. At the heart of my practice is a genuine belief in the integrity, dignity, and worth of every person I work with. Human connection matters deeply to me, and that belief shapes everything about how I approach care. Therapy doesn't have to feel stiff or one-sided. Here, it's a collaborative space where we process, reflect, and work toward your goals together, without judgment, and without pretense.

When life gets overwhelming, it can feel like you are stuck, facing an endless cycle that you wish could change. Experiencing gridlock in your own life or in a relationship can be stressful, frustrating and lonely. Sometimes in the moment, it can seem easier to ignore/avoid the issues that are challenging you until you are faced with them again; and other times you can’t stop thinking about your challenges. It can also be difficult or painful to tolerate watching your loved ones struggle, or make decisions you think are not in their best interest. Over time these stressors can cause you to experience negative thoughts and feelings.

My favored strategies include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and strategies from neuroscience.
Do you feel stressed, overwhelmed, and stuck in your own head? Do you struggle with feelings of not being enough, feeling lost, or just going through the motions of daily life? Many of us go through our days feeling numb and disconnected or struggle with anxious and low moods. Unfortunately, in these overly busy and stress filled times, the loss of joy and vitality is all too common. When things are hectic and we are just trying to get through the day, it is easy to lose sight of our true values and our lives can veer off course, leaving us feeling empty and lost.

If you’re overwhelmed by anxiety, OCD, depression, intrusive thoughts, or intense emotions, you may be exhausted from managing it alone. You might feel stuck in cycles of avoidance, reassurance-seeking, emotional outbursts, self-criticism, or relationship conflict—wanting relief but unsure how to change. For some, this includes emotion dysregulation, impulsivity, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts that feel frightening and hard to control. You want stability, healthier relationships, and a life that truly feels worth living.

If there is one thing that I find particularly bothersome is when people feel the need to judge others. I can tell you that will not happen should you consider to work with me. I am here to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment in order for you to work on healing yourself. The passion I have to help others allowed me the opportunity to begin my therapeutic journey more than 17 years ago. Throughout the years I have worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults struggling with mental health challenges.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
