I enjoy working with people across the lifespan, especially pre-teens, teens, and young adults, on concerns regarding anxiety, depression, life transitions, stressors, and interpersonal relationships. My goal for working with clients is that they feel heard and understood regarding their experiences and supported in utilizing tools. Clients who engage in skills and techniques both during and outside of our sessions typically see the most growth.

I help clients to move beyond beliefs of self-hate and doubt to feelings of self-love and celebration. My clients improve their self-compassion while healing past pain, leading to deeper connection with the people in their lives. We develop strategies to replace old coping mechanisms that are no longer helpful or never were. I believe we are all more than the worst things we have ever thought about ourselves.

They often struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship patterns that feel like déjà vu (people-pleasing, perfectionism, and negative self-talk).
If you’re burnt out from anxiety, stuck in people-pleasing mode, over-functioning in your relationships, and still feel like you’re too much and not enough: you’re not alone. Many of my clients are people who feel deeply, think a lot, and carry more than most people realize. I work with college students, young adults, and teens ages 16+ (including BIPOC and LGBTQ+). I understand that going to therapy may feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar - that's okay! I am warm, engaged, and collaborative in my approach, grounded in an attachment/relational framework and values-based therapy.

My focus includes trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, low self-worth, people-pleasing, burnout, cultural concerns, military stressors, and relationship issues.
Do you ever feel so depleted from holding everything together on your own? Maybe a part of you stays strong to not feel like a burden yet another part of you quietly feels invisible and alone hoping someone would notice. As a Filipino American, military spouse, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapist, I get it. You don’t have to carry it all alone. Therapy can be a space to feel seen & supported. Our identities, cultures, & lived experiences shape how we see ourselves and move through the world. I aim to offer a safe space where your voice matters, your values guide our work, and you’re truly heard, without judgment.

I help women who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, motherhood, divorce, relationship issues and self-esteem to cope with everyday life.
You keep seeing everyone posting about being their best self, and showing up for themselves. Meanwhile you are just trying to be. Whatever that be, may be for the day. I believe that in order to be your best self, you must be authentic. What does that even look like? You must be true to what you’ve endured, the things that you have overcome…the good, the bad, and even the ugly moments. I help women to embrace them all. Then we take it a step further and look at building you up as a WHOLE. So your best self starts with where you are today and then we create a plan on where you want to be and who you want to become.

Are you looking for something different? Are you needing to work on past trauma to live the best life you can imagine? Do you feel like other people have something you are missing? Making this move may be the best decision you ever make for yourself. If you are wanting to find a refreshing approach, and a compassionate person that just might "get it," I encourage you to reach out. Often we don't even know how we might feel on the other side of dealing with "stuff" until we do, and wonder why we didn't do this sooner.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
