Every person carries a story uniquely their own, & in the moments when challenges arise, finding someone truly steady and compassionate can feel rare. It is important to me for my clients to feel that they are heard, accepted, & understood. I bring a genuine, direct approach to supporting your goals, and that may occasionally involve challenging certain ideas. I specialize with individuals navigating: anxiety, depression, addiction recovery, self harm, suicidal ideations, trauma, & life transitions. While I work especially well with teens through individuals in their 30s, I welcome clients of all backgrounds and stages of life.

My ideal clients are high-functioning women who are used to holding everything together but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or quietly struggling beneath the surface. They often come to therapy carrying stress, trauma, grief, or difficult relationship dynamics and are ready for something to change. I provide a grounded, supportive space where they can process what they’ve been carrying, build healthier boundaries, and reconnect with themselves so they can move forward with greater clarity, strength, and emotional stability.

My ideal client is an adult or teen facing challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, stress, or other concerns. They want to build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting change. I believe every person holds resilience and the ability to grow, and therapy is a space to uncover that strength. As a therapist, I value activism, welcome all identities, and create a safe, affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to live authentically.

My ideal client is anyone who is suffering, hurting, desperate, and motivated for change. I have been practicing counseling since 2004 and have worked in pretty much every scenario possible from prescreening in the emergency room during the pandemic (that was fun), to my early days of group and family work in inpatient psychiatric settings. I started providing Telehealth services in the later part of 2020 and have found this platform to be meaningful and powerful for individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. I believe in a wholistic approach to physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual healing.

You love each other, so why does it feel this hard? Why does every conversation turn into the same fight, shutdown, or distance? I work with couples and individuals stuck in painful relationship patterns, constant conflict, disconnection, or trust issues. Many come in exhausted, repeating the same cycles and unsure how to fix it. Together, we get underneath what’s really driving those patterns, help you communicate in ways that actually land, and create real change so you can feel more connected, secure, and understood, even if you need to attend individually.

Painful life experiences can cause us to feel stuck and unsure how to live the life we long for. We may have tried so many ways to change, but feel unable to make real progress. I consider it a privilege to be a counselor and walk through this with you. I attend to the intricate relationship between the mind/body and the role of emotional experiences in our well-being. I have a complicated understanding of ways we are impacted by trauma and what helps us recover. I consider the client/counselor relationship to be incredibly important, but I also want to support the important relationships in your life. I look forward to meeting you.

I work with clients that are ready to face life’s challenges. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain, but they’re motivated to grow and open to exploring deeper patterns in themselves and their relationships. Whether they’re healing from past hurt, managing stress, or rebuilding connection, they value real conversation, personal growth, and a counselor who offers both empathy and direct, practical guidance.

In this busy life, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start when you are faced with change, uncertainty, grief, and stress. As a therapist, it's my goal to provide people space to talk openly about what they are experiencing while being authentic to their inner feelings. Therapy isn't about needing to be "fixed," it's about learning to understand yourself and others better than before.

Life can be overwhelming—especially when you're facing anxiety, depression, past trauma, or the weight of daily stress. If you're feeling stuck, exhausted, or unsure where to turn, you're not alone. Reaching out for support is a powerful first step, and I’m here to help you feel heard, supported, and equipped to move forward. Developing knowledge of specific techniques related to patterns and cycles of behavior is a major contributing force of my passion for therapy.

I like helping people who are going through a rough patch and need a little extra help to get through. This can be kids, adults, and whole families. While the people who need my help are not feeling so great when they first come in, I am so happy to help them through the tough times and see them come out on the other side feeling like themselves again, and perhaps even stronger.

Codependency Therapists
What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
