Nothing unsettles me in my role—no relationship history, difficult past, or trauma is too much.
Together we uncover dynamics of behavior, feeling and relating to the world. Discover the difference between realistic approaches and outdated habits; often uncovering wisdom, integrity and creativity you’ve always had. How do you want to weave the tapestry of your life? What is the spiritual gene and unique expression you carry into this life?

When looking for a therapist, ask someone that knows the reputation of the therapists in this area. Ask a friend, a family doctor, a pastor or a professional. They know the best therapist in the area. Don't pick a therapist simply based on what the therapist has written about her/himself or solely on the price. This is your life; it's your marriage or your family. 90% of our clients come from "word of mouth". We maintain a respected reputation due to the staff's professional skills and therapeutic effectiveness & reliability - we've been here since 1986. ---We are proud to be a Veteran Owned counseling practice.---

But this is an important relationship, so take your time and look for that "goodness-of-fit" that will enable you to find your comfort.
Since I have been practicing for over 30 years, I have worked in a variety of settings, with a variety of people, who have all contributed to a wide array of experiences. My orientation is as eclectic and diverse as my clients and their issues. I believe that therapy is most effective when client and therapist work together to develop clear priorities.

I work to develop a strong, trusting relationship with every client and design a treatment that is tailored to your needs.
The first step in therapy is to help you develop insight into the underlying causes of your emotions. From a place of deep understanding, we can then work towards finding strategies to help you to cope with your current situation or make important changes in your life.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
