Kevin enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds, specifically people undergoing life changes and people in the LGBTQIA community. Life is unpredictable and full of unexpected challenges/adventures. Kevin finds meeting clients where they are in their journey is the most effective way to help them determine the best path for themselves. Exploring different triggers, barriers, and obstacles on each person’s unique journey can help clients find the way to re-write their own narrative and experience while providing them with the skills to manage the unexpected

Feel like giving up? I did and I would have if it wasn't for the Grace of God. Because of that grace, I am blessed to offer you a secure, safe space to give you a voice to speak about what matters to you. In counseling I listen to understand, to guide my clients toward life and health, using evidence-based practices, biblical principles, and direction from Holy Spirit. I believe in prayer. It is the driving force that brings my clients healing; along with faith in Jesus and trusting the counseling process.

Do you feel like you are holding onto a lot? The mental load, the pressure to keep it together, the feeling of being stuck even when you’re doing “everything right.” Maybe you’re navigating a change in life or trying to untangle patterns in a relationship. Maybe you’re trying to make sense of intense emotions that can feel unmanageable. Life is a lot like playing cards. Everyone gets dealt a different hand, and we never know what we are going to get. Yet somehow, we are expected to do the most with the hand we are given, even if it’s not the one we wanted.

Sometimes, life simply doesn't make sense, leaving us anxious, stressed, depressed or behaving in ways that don't make sense. At times we may feel stuck.

Whether you’ve tried therapy before or this is your first time, the process of choosing a therapist and getting started can feel overwhelming. It’s daunting, but important, as I believe the fit between client and therapist is one of the most important parts of treatment. I look at therapy as a partnership and try to adapt my therapeutic approach to each client’s unique needs. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel both validated and challenged. Everyone should have an environment where they feel comfortable discussing their thoughts and processing their emotions free of any judgment.

Hello! I am glad you are here with me. I am a compassionate and warm Art Therapist who utilizes art processes and materials to suit you in further exploring experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Utilizing art processes allows for an alternative way of healing and processing than traditional talk therapy, regardless of prior art-making experience. I believe an important part of doing therapy with others is being present - holding space for people without expressing biases, which is an important part of feeling seen and understood.

Many clients I work with are capable, thoughtful people who’ve spent years managing on their own, thinking their way through problems, holding it together for others, and pushing emotions aside until they become too loud to ignore. Despite insight and effort, they feel stuck in the same patterns. In therapy, I focus on building a relationship where you feel safe exploring what’s happening beneath the surface and supported in taking emotional risks that lead to real change. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or repeating relationship patterns, therapy can be a space to move beyond coping and toward clarity and relief.

I believe therapy can benefit everyone, and is not just for when something is "wrong." Therapy is a place to work through issues, but is also a place to become the best version of yourself. I hope that after therapy with me, clients feel motivated and empowered to move forward and do their best at whatever challenges arise.

It’s easy to feel like we’re falling behind when life gets heavy but sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is pause, breathe, and realign. If you grew up in a space where shame silenced your needs or where survival took priority over self-care, giving yourself permission to rest or seek help can feel unfamiliar even uncomfortable. If you're the first in your family to break generational cycles, navigating healing can be both brave and overwhelming. I hold space for that tension - between fear and hope - and walk with you as you learn to trust yourself and your path.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
